No mention of a series, so it looks like there won't be a Pro model

OnePlus has announced the date for its next phone launch — the OnePlus 8T will be revealed at a livestreamed event on Wednesday, October 14, at 7AM PST (10AM EST, 3PM BST). It's been rumored that only a single phone will be launched in with 8T branding, and that looks all but confirmed as it's referred to in the singular (rather than series) throughout today's announcement.

OnePlus 8 series to be unveiled on April 14

We can expect 5G support and high-refresh rate screens

OnePlus is gearing up to launch its latest flagship lineup, the OnePlus 8 series. In line with previous rumors that pointed to a mid-April release, the company has just announced that it will unveil its new phones on April 14 during an online-only live event.

We knew this was coming. Following countless reports since 2018 leading up to a high-res photo posted by OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau himself, the OnePlus TV was all but confirmed for today's launch event. Now we have confirmation: the first smart television by OnePlus has been unveiled exclusively for the Indian market, and we have all the interesting details.

There aren't currently any smartphones on the market that ship with Android 10 — even the latest Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL handsets come preloaded with Android 9 Pie — but that's all about to change. The OnePlus 7T, greenlit to be unveiled this week, will be the first Android device launching with version 10.

After a few light leaks, OnePlus is almost ready to take the wraps off its new hardware, and it will do so on two separate dates in three different locations. First up will be an announcement on September 26 in North America (10:30 AM EDT) and India (7 PM IST), and then on October 10 at an event in London (4 PM BST), the European launch will take place.

Huawei sub-brand Honor today shared press invites to an event in London scheduled for the following date: 444+4x4x4+(4+4)/4+44/4. Do the math and you'll find that the sum equals 521, or rather 5/21, alluding to May 21, the date Honor has given for the launch of its next smartphone series.

After plenty of leaks, rumors, and teasers from the company itself, OnePlus has now set a date for the launch of its next flagship phone. The OnePlus 6T will be announced at an event in New York at 11:00 EDT (8:00 PDT) on October 30th 29th.

When Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says something's going to happen in the world of tech, his word is very nearly a guarantee. So when a Gurman-authored article talking about upcoming iPhones sneaks in a one-line reference to Google having an October 9th Pixel event in New York City, we start freeing up our calendars.

By this point, we're able to piece together a pretty good picture of the upcoming OnePlus 6. It's going to have a notch. Unless you don't want it to have a notch. Unsurprisingly, it's going to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. And it's going to have a glass back. We now know when we're going to see the full picture.

As enthusiasts, we enjoy watching livestreams to learn about the latest devices as live events are happening. But if you had the opportunity to actually attend such an event, would you pay to go? You might want to ask yourself this question, as OnePlus will be offering tickets to its OnePlus 5T unveiling on November 16th in Brooklyn, New York for $40 a pop.

We pretty much know what the OnePlus 2 will look like thanks to a regulator leak earlier this week. And we know all of the important technical details thanks to piece-by-piece updates from the company itself. But if you still feel the need to tune in to the announcement on Monday, July 27th, OnePlus would really like you to do so via newfangled virtual reality. They've just posted the official Google Cardboard app for the livestreaming announcement.
