Most Android manufacturers these days publish update release schedules to let consumers know when their devices will be getting the latest software. But what these release schedules don't usually say is that you'll have to wait a full nine months to have the newest Android version make its way to your phone. Lenovo has done just that with the release schedule for the Lenovo K8 series of phones, claiming that they'll receive Android 8.0 Oreo by June to July of 2018.

LG will reportedly unveil new K-series, X-series, and Stylus mid-range smartphones at CES

While most of us immediately associate LG with the poorly-built G5, the fairly decent V20, and bootloops (sorry, I had to), the Korean electronics company also produces quite a few budget and mid-range phones under the K-series, X-series, and Stylus/Stylo monikers. At CES in January, LG will reportedly debut six new devices that belong to these series, and another at February's MWC.

LG Announces Two New Mid-Range Models, The K5 And K8 LTE, For Release In Worldwide Markets

LG likes to keep a large, rolling selection of mid-range and low-end phones available for a variety of customers, and today it's revealing two more. The K8 LTE and K5 are both 5-inch phones with a focus on style over substance thanks to somewhat low specifications, but they should do well enough if they're launched at the right price. Unfortunately the press release doesn't say how much the phones will cost, but the K8 will sell in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Russia, while the K5 will be limited to Europe, Russia, and Latin America. Both should be available to purchase later this week in some markets.
