OnePlus 8 Pro's color filter camera makes thin plastics and other materials transparent

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a fun extra "color filter camera" that processes infrared light in addition to visible wavelengths. With the help of some post-processing, it creates stunning and weird false-color images. That's not all there is to it, though. IR light is essentially electromagnetic radiation capable of penetrating certain materials other lightwaves can't, so the camera can be used for a neat party trick: It lets you see through some thin plastics and a few other materials.

Smart IR Remote Updated To Support Rooted Phones With Custom ROMs, Even Those That Don't Have IR Drivers Built-In

What timing. Just over a week ago I transitioned my HTC One over from Sense 5 to CyanogenMod, accepting the fact that I was sacrificing IR functionality in the process (and yes, that was something I used somewhat regularly). Now an update for Smart IR Remote has landed that adds IR functionality back to HTC Ones and Samsung Galaxy devices with custom ROMs installed, even if the ROM lacks IR drivers. Today, I'm taking a look at the Philips Fidelio AS851 (yes, that is kind of a lame name), Philips' top-of-the-line Android speaker dock. How can a speaker dock be designed for Android, you ask? Well, Philips realized that their popular line of iPhone docks could pretty easily be converted to be Android friendly by changing the dock connector to a microUSB connection, and releasing the Fidelio app for Android handsets.

Mozilla's Stunning Seabird Mobile Phone Concept - This Is What Dreams Are Made Of [VIDEO]

Folks, I wish I could have the pleasure of telling you that what you're about to see is available now or even that it will be available in the next couple of years. Unfortunately, at this stage, this Seabird mobile phone concept, designed by Billy May for Mozilla, is just a dream. A dream, so beautifully projected in this video that it made me feel both sadness and happiness, inspiration and despair, awe and... well, you'll know what I mean after you watch it.

Without further ado, allow me to introduce Seabird:

If you happen to have 3D glasses, Billy May put together a 3D version of this video, available here.
