This one is a huge price drop. Just a few days ago this was $550 on Amazon (although it has been down around $450 a few times, like back at the beginning of April), but right now Huawei's Jewel/Pearl model of their OG smartwatch is $220. Huawei's Android Wear device is one of the best from the last generation. The style might not be for everyone, but the price certainly is. And the deal is at Amazon with no 3rd party seller or code needed. Read More
Android Wear 2.0 has been sort of available for a few months, although almost no watches were running it. Your best bet if you wanted AW2.0 was to buy one of the new LG watches from Google. Now, one of the most popular Android Wear devices of yesteryear is getting Wear 2.0. If you've got a Huawei Watch, you might want to charge it up for the (hopefully) impending update. If you are on the preview, it's probably already downloading. Read More
You may recall Android Police's long-running 'What We Use' series, where the fantastic people that work here share the tech (and sometimes non-tech) products they use on a frequent basis.
I haven't actually written one of these posts yet - simply because I only joined AP last year. I've had a fascination with technology as long as I can remember, but my arsenal of toys is constantly changing. So without further ado, this is what I use. Read More
We're impatiently waiting for Android Wear 2.0 to roll to some of the most popular watches released: the second generation Moto 360 and the Huawei Watch. There are also other watches that still haven't received the update and weeks are passing by quickly without a hint of when exactly we should expect the new firmware to hit.
Android Wear support forums' community manager Ernest has posted an update a few hours ago explaining the situation with the different Wear watches and their update timelines. He reiterated the watches that have already received the update, but most importantly, he said that the remaining models should receive their updates by end of April or late May. Read More
Amazon has knocked $100 off the price of the black stainless Huawei Watch today, bringing it down to $250. Those looking for an entry into the world of Android Wear devices could do a lot worse. Read More
The original Huawei Watch, especially after the disappointment of the second model, is one of more popular Android Wear watches. While it was already expected to get Android Wear 2.0, now it seems a later update might enable the watch's NFC chip, for use with Android Pay. Read More
The wait for OTA updates seems to be our "favorite" past-time these days. Android 7.0 or 7.1.1 for our phones, Play Store support for our Chromebooks, Wear 2.0 for our watches, we're almost always waiting for some new firmware to hit our devices. But one of these could be coming to an end soon: according to @HuaweiServiceDE, Android Wear 2.0 might be rolling to the Huawei Watch at the end of March. Read More
Huawei is going to be on-hand at Mobile World Congress with the P10, but that's not all. The long-awaited Huawei Watch 2 (code name Leo) will be breaking cover as well, and VentureBeat has press images of the device. It has a very different, sportier vibe than the original Huawei Watch. Read More
The original Huawei Watch was released nearly two years ago, and received mostly great reviews (including from us). While being a bit large and fairly expensive, it's still one of the best Android Wear watches you can buy, and even can run the Android Wear 2.0 Developer Previews. The watch was removed from the Google Store last month, but it looks like a new model is on the horizon. Read More
We knew this time would come. By all appearances, the Huawei Watch models geared for women are on their way out the door into the nether. Whether the pages don't exist anymore or the item listings show discontinued/limited stock, the story is pretty clear. Read More
