[Deal Alert] HTC is offering the 10 in all models and colors for $549 ($150 off)

Although the HTC 10 is quite a nice flagship, many laughed at the Taiwanese company for pricing it at $699. However, HTC's website is now offering the 10 in any carrier model and any color for $549. That's $150 off MSRP, and it makes the 10 a much more compelling buy.

HTC 10 in Camellia Red and Topaz Gold colors finally available in the U.S.

Up until this point, the HTC 10 has only been available (in the United States) in the rather dull-looking Carbon Grey and Glacier Silver colors. But if you're in the market for a new phone, not only has the price once again dropped to $599 for the unlocked model - but you can now grab it in the Camellia Red and Topaz Gold colors.

The Topaz Gold color looks clean and minimalist, and at least in my opinion, the Camellia Red looks fantastic. The new colors will start shipping in early October, but you can pre-order them now.

Purchasing the HTC 10 from HTC's website means you get free Uh-Oh Protection, which covers screen cracking and water damage for up to 12 months.

T-Mobile quietly dropped the HTC 10 in July after just 2 months

HTC launched the HTC 10 this spring to mostly positive reviews, a pleasant departure from several years of lackluster flagship phones. However, good reviews don't always translate into good sales. T-Mobile is known for kicking under-performing phones to the curb pretty quickly (see: the Priv), and it looks like the same thing happened to the HTC 10 last month. Almost no one noticed, though.

[Deal Alert] Get $100 off the HTC 10 on HTC's store through the end of July

Let's be real here—the HTC One M9 was not a good phone, but the HTC 10 is. The only problem is that it's very expensive at $700. Now, HTC is knocking $100 off the price through the end of July, but the deal is only valid through HTC's online store. This probably would have been a better starting price.

HTC promises Android Nougat upgrades for the One M9, One A9, and HTC 10

After this morning's surprise announcement of Android Nougat (comment on the original post to express your displeasure at the name, por favor), HTC wasted no time in using it for a little social media marketing. About an hour later the company posted the tweet below on its official international account, promising an upgrade for the current HTC 10 flagship, last year's One M9, and the sleeker One A9.

HTC Has Started Posting Kernel Source For the HTC 10

HTC's new flagship is a marked improvement over the last couple, and that might get the dev community interested again. To do the really cool stuff, developers need kernel source for a device, and HTC has been good enough to oblige (not like it has a choice). The first few variants of the 10 are now listed on HTC's dev pages with open source code downloads.
