Instagram now supports Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi

Here's a thing: Instagram now supports right-to-left languages. Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised that this wasn't present already given the amount of people who speak these languages, but it's here now. If you speak one of those languages, it's very easy to switch your app over to it.

DuoLingo updated with language training in Hebrew, Hungarian, and Vietnamese

"Hebrew, Hungarian, and Vietnamese" sounds like the setup for a rather tasteless "guys walk into a bar" joke. But don't worry, readers of delicate disposition: it's just the latest update to DuoLingo, the much-loved language learning app. The August 1st update posted to the Play Store lists all three languages as additions to its growing list, so feel free to bone up on them if you're planning an oddly specific bit of international travel.

[APK Download] Google Slides Supports RTL Languages, Google Docs Gets Text Selection In The Print Layout View

If you're preparing a presentation in Google Slides, chances are that you're going to be doing it in your native language or your secondary one. If you speak Arabic or Hebrew, however, you were out of luck because the Android app didn't support RTL languages. Now that's changing since the Slides app on Android is able to create and edit presentations in RTL on version 1.6.092.07.

It turns out that the same version 1.6.092.04 of Google Docs hides another helpful addition and that's the fact that text is now selectable in the Print Layout view.

Some people download a million apps to their Android phone, one for each and every activity. Coincidentally, these are also the people who ask their brother why their phone, which was lightning fast when they got it, is suddenly struggling to open the homescreen under the load of three different QR code readers. (Not that I'm pointing fingers. Bekie.) For those who prefer to keep fewer apps installed, the latest PayPal update adds the ability to scan and retrieve gift cards.

2014-12-21 14.35.00

The new feature is an extension of "PayPal Wallet," and it works in pretty much the same way. Open the wallet, tap the "+" button in the upper right corner, and select "Gift Card." Unfortunately only 31 stores are supported, but some of the big ones include Toys R Us, Staples, Lowe's, and Gamestop.

Hebrew Calendar Option Lands In Web Version Of Google Calendar For Tracking Those Elusive Jewish Holidays

Jewish holidays follow the Hebrew calendar, so their dates appear to move around each year. Now Google Calendar should be better able to help keep track of them. Google has rolled out the ability to select the Hebrew calendar in the web version of Google Calendar. This will enable users to see Hebrew dates alongside their usual ones.
