Ketchapp has taken The Tower and slapped an Assassin's Creed skin on it

Ketchapp has taken their popular casual tower building game The Tower and has slightly tweaked it for Assassin's Creed's 10th anniversary with the release of an all-new yet familiar title. This new game is known simply as The Tower Assassin's Creed, and you can expect all of the same tower building goodness of the original with the added benefit of having an Assasin's Creed character jumping off of these towers.

DreamWorks Universe of Legends is yet another lazy hero collection game

Firefly Games Inc. has released DreamWorks Universe of Legends. At its core, it is yet another lazy hero collection game starring many of the famous characters found in DreamWorks Animation's films, with a few base-building aspects thrown into the mix to round the whole thing out. Of course, a hero collection game wouldn't be complete without simplistic battles that require little to no input from the user. Sadly this is all par for the course in a game filled with in-app purchases that are squarely targeted at children, though I suppose Dreamworks doesn't care where the money comes from as long as it keeps filling their coffers.

Bandai Namco's English version of 'DigimonLinks' is a complete mess

The English version of DigimonLinks was just pushed out to the Play Store without even a peep from the publisher Bandai Namco. All the same, you can expect plenty of the digital monster collecting gameplay everyone loves about the series with one huge caveat. This is without a doubt a free-to-play title filled with gacha mechanics and numerous in-app purchases.

Telltale Games has released the first and second episode of 'Batman: The Enemy Within'

Batman: The Enemy Within is the latest Telltale Games title to garner a release on the Play Store. It's the direct sequel and the second chapter to Batman - The Telltale Series, and just like the rest of Telltale's games, it's a story-driven episodic adventure. Luckily for us there is no cost to download the first episode in this release, unlike the majority of Telltale's games that often launch with a premium price point attached to the initial download.

Mornings are for coffee and contemplation but also for playing 'Stranger Things: The Game'

Lo and behold, sometime late last night BonusXP, Inc. released Stranger Things: The Game. With the second season of the hugely popular Netflix show looming on the horizon, there is no doubt why this title was just pushed out to the Play Store. Shockingly unlike most tie-in mobile games Stranger Things: The Game is an absolutely fantastic release. It plays just like a classic pixel-based adventure game that would easily fit within the library of any 16-bit console, and best of all it's completely free for everyone to enjoy.

[Hands-on] Into the Dead 2, a well made auto-runner that leans heavily on its free-to-play mechanics

Into the Dead 2 is the sequel to PIKPOK's original zombie auto-runner Into the Dead. It takes everything you enjoyed about the first title and adds a ton of polish and a new overarching story that ties together the game's 7 chapters, 60 stages, and hundreds of challenges. And to top it off, you can now equip a canine companion to join you along your journey through a zombie-filled world.

The worldwide launch of 'Middle-earth: Shadow of War' is today

Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been in beta for what seems like forever, but in reality, it has only been a few months. In that time I wrote about the ability to pre-register for the game as well as did a hands-on with the beta to find out how it played. Suffice to say, despite Middle-earth: Shadow of War existing as a promotional title to Warner Bros. upcoming AAA console and PC release, it's undoubtedly a free-to-play gacha RPG filled with all of the usual trappings.

[Hands-on] Assassin's Creed Rebellion, a fresh take on an aging franchise

At first glance Assassin's Creed Rebellion looks quite a lot like Fallout Shelter, which isn't a surprise considering they were both developed by Behaviour Interactive. But unlike Fallout Shelter, Assassin's Creed Rebellion's gameplay is centered around turn-based squad strategy mechanics more similar in style to the X-Com series.

[Hands-on] Phantomgate, an RPG that mixes many genres into a cornucopia of fun

Phatomgate is one of those titles where I am not sure where I stand. On the one hand, it's clearly a free-to-play gacha game. On the other, it's a competent turn-based RPG with some fantastic platforming gameplay. Then you have its high production values to take into consideration, which makes it all that much more difficult to label Phatomgate as simply a good or bad game.

Newest SEGA Forever game: Golden Axe, a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up

Earlier this month Sega released their classic platformer Ristar on the Play Store as part of their SEGA Forever classic games collection program. Today they have released the traditional side-scrolling beat 'em up Golden Axe as part of the same program. You can grab the advertisement supported title for free or pay $1.99 to remove those ads and enjoy the game as it was intended.
