Google may have started selling its new second-generation Pixel Stand a few weeks ago, but your Pixel 6 won't actually be able to take full advantage of it for a little while longer. Since the December update has been pulled, the up to 23W fast wireless charging functionality won't be delivered to the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro until the January update.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been out for the better part of a month now, but that doesn't mean every promised accessory is available just yet. At its October event, Google announced a new version of the Pixel Stand, complete with 23W wireless charging and compatibility with other Qi-capable devices. It skipped a timed launch with the company's new lineup of phones, however. Starting today, the Pixel Stand is now up for pre-order — though you'll need to wait a little longer to try it out for yourself.

The Stand will let your phone start off your day with lighting simulating the sunrise before your alarm goes off, and then automatically display your schedule, traffic info, and news. When you place your phone on the Stand at night, it will automatically turn on Do Not Disturb to help you get restful sleep. The Pixel Stand can also allow your phone to display a slideshow of your Google Photos while you charge. The settings are of course customizable, and on top of all that, it provides 10W to rapidly charge your phone.
Google released the Pixel Stand in 2018, alongside the first Pixels with wireless charging (the 3 and 3 XL). It has gone on sale a few times since then, but now you can get one for just $53 from Amazon.
