2023 was a big year in tech, introducing premium devices with mind-blowing features, as well as affordable gadgets with more capability than we could have foreseen. In contrast to our Tech-tober reviews, which included some of the best high-end smartphones in the last couple years, both November and December left us pleased with a variety of midrange and even entry-level accessories and tech toys that had no right to be as useful and fun as they were.

There are a number of great Wi-Fi 6 mesh routers on the market, capable of delivering reliable, ultra-fast speeds to every nook and cranny of your home. Google recently launched its own Nest Wifi Pro, not just with Wi-Fi 6 support, but the extra 6GHz band of Wi-Fi 6E. It has a modern, unassuming design, it's easy to set up, and it can be managed from within the Google Home app. And if all that weren't enough, right now it's being discounted up to $60.

Some of the best Wi-Fi routers are available at discounted prices for Cyber Monday, but most of them sold as single units cannot fix issues like dead spots, poor coverage, and slow connection speed for you. If you’re facing any of these issues, you can pick up one of our favorite Wi-Fi 6 mesh routers, or this Google Nest Wifi two-pack for an absolute steal right now.

Google's newest Wi-Fi router is here: the Nest Wifi Pro was announced alongside other Made by Google products during the company's latest hardware event, and they have only started landing in households this week. It'll take some time before we can say whether it'll rank among the best routers on the market, but for the early adopters out there — especially for a Google product — it's all about the growing pains, and we're learning about one of them now.

If networking your home doesn't mean much more to you than unboxing the router your ISP sent over by default, chances are you're missing out on a lot. There are plenty of great Wi-Fi 6 mesh routers to choose from, but if you're looking for a solution from Google, your best option for a while now has been the Nest Wifi system that arrived alongside the Pixel 4 back in 2019. We've been hearing rumors about new hardware all summer, and today that finally goes official, as Google reveals the Nest Wifi Pro.

A B&H listing spills all the beans on Google’s new Wifi product

It’s been clear for a while that Google is working on a refreshed version of its Wifi mesh router system. A new leak now gives us the clearest idea of what we can expect yet, as a B&H listing reveals that Google’s upcoming networking product will almost certainly be called “Nest Wifi Pro” and supposedly go for $200 a piece.

Probable Nest Wifi refresh hits FCC with Wi-Fi 6E support

Support for the new 6GHz technology and identical hardware between router and points sounds great to me

Another Google-associated device just hit the FCC. At a glance, this looks like it could be the upcoming refresh of the 2019 Nest Wifi, and details included in the report indicate that it will support Wi-Fi 6E.

Google's next Nest Wifi router might add Wi-Fi 6 and simplify hardware

Routers and satellite points will be the same thing again, and it might even support Wi-fi 6E

We've known that Google was probably working on a Nest Wifi successor since details about it were dug up in in a teardown. But a recent report reveals a little more about the upcoming hardware, including how it might work more like the old Google Wifi than the more recent Nest Wifi, and how it should include Wi-Fi 6 — and maybe even Wi-Fi 6E.

Apart from Pixel phones and Nest smart home products, Google sells Wi-Fi networking devices under the Nest and Google monikers. The company launched the current-gen Nest Wifi mesh router with built-in Assistant speakers back in 2019. A year later, this was followed by the launch of a cheaper Google-branded Wifi system. Fast forward to 2022, Google's Wi-Fi networking range is showing its age, with the missing Wi-Fi 6 support being a bummer for many. Now, the folks over at 9to5Google have uncovered evidence that points to the big G working on the next generation of its router lineup under the codename "Sirocco."

A lot of homes have bred makeshift offices within the last year and the need for good internet coverage has never been felt more strongly. If you were looking for a good mesh Wi-Fi network to invest in, the Google Wi-Fi router might just be the one for you now — it's not only getting cheaper but also being made available in Canada and Europe. The availability expansion brings the product to 17 new countries:

Mesh Wi-Fi is a game changer in environments where a single router just isn't cutting it, and there aren't many systems more user-friendly than Nest Wifi. A set with one router and two satellite points will normally run you $349, but today, Woot's got a rare deal on the three-pack: it's $280, down $69.

If anyone knows the internet, it's Google. So it makes sense that its Wifi routers are some of the most well regarded products in its hardware lineup. Google expanded Nest Wifi's availability to more countries last month — and with people around the world spending so much time at home these days, it's no wonder. Now users with Nest Wifi and Google Wifi systems are about to get their home internet upgraded, because the company is rolling out an update that will improve performance on slower Internet connections.

With so many people having to stay at home these days, it's important to have reliable home internet. Google's first mesh router system offered a powerful, easy-to-set-up home network, and the second-gen Nest Wifi model is even better. Now Google has announced it will be expanding the product sales to new European markets.

You'll definitely need a good connection when stuck at home for a couple of weeks

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of us have to stay quarantined at home. Whether you're working, catching up with friends and family, or relaxing and watching a movie, you'll need a stable connection throughout your home to avoid disruptions. Thankfully, Google's Nest Wifi, which is one of the best mesh networks on the market, is currently on sale, as the bundle that includes the router and an additional access point is down to $199, which is $70 less than the usual price.

Google isn't the best at explaining its own products. Yet another example of this happened only a few days ago, as the official Android Twitter account posted about a Google Assistant feature that seemed to be new at first glance. However, it ended up being a reminder that not only is Google bad at explaining what its products do, but also that the feature divide between the Nest Hub and third-party Assistant smart displays is alive and well.

Modern-day networking has taken a lot of the sting out of getting your devices up and connected, but there can still be a lot of hoops to jump though, and the idea of running cables, placing antennas, and drowning in a sea of DHCP leases and DNS lookups is enough to give even seasoned techies a mild panic attack. Google's hoping to further reduce many of those headaches while still giving users a powerful home network with the introduction of its new Nest Wifi mesh system.

We're just a week out from Google's October 15th hardware event, at which the company is expected to announce a pile of products, including the much-leaked Pixel 4. But there will be more to the next Made by Google event than just a new phone, plenty of other hardware (and software) is expected to land. Let's work through the list so that you know what to expect.
