- Although Google announced this change four months ago, the company is just now sending out emails to Google Express customers describing the changes. A help page with most of the same information was also published, and Google Express customers may see a notification card regarding the upcoming changes in the app.
Earlier this month, a report from The Information claimed Google was preparing to overhaul its shopping services — including Google Express. Now the company has officially announced the merging of Shopping Search and Express into the new Google Shopping.
GoPro may have crashed out of making drones, but DJI seems intent on cracking the action camera market. The Osmo Action Cam, which launched this summer for $350 with dual screens and electronically stabilized 4K/60 video capture, is currently on sale at an all-time low of $261 thanks to a Labor Day promo code.
Earlier this year, Google confirmed that it would merge Shopping (a way to search for products from many stores in one place) and Express (a combined storefront for multiple retailers) to make the new Google Shopping. While the mobile app still bears the Express name, the updated Google Shopping site has finally appeared.
Google Express has been around for years, but it has seen a renewed growth lately. The service has gained hundreds of retailers (while also losing one of its biggest partners), but it's still struggling to compete with Amazon and other online giants. According to a report from The Information, Google has big plans for Express — including a name change.
When Google Express re-launched in 2017 as a free service, it had two major retail partners — Walmart and Target. Both companies have a massive amount of stores across the United States, so Express became a great shopping tool as a result. However, Walmart seems to have been quietly removed from Express.
If you've never tried Google Express, now is a good time to give it a shot. New customers can now get 20% off the cost of any order, maxing out at $20 in savings, by entering the code NEWYEAR19 at checkout.
The holiday shopping season itself may be over, but between returns, gift cards, and spending the cash you got in that card from grandma, it seems that we just can't fully shake the pull of retail. If your end-of-year shopping has you headed online, Google Express is ready with a pile of new storefronts, adding 157 retailers over the course of the past month.
The past few weeks have seen a ton of deals on the Google Home Hub. Most of those have been bundles with other products, like the Home Mini, though many of you simply don't need any more Home Minis. However, a Google Express coupon for new customers brings the Home Hub's price down to just .20, the lowest price we've seen for Google's smart display yet.
Whether you need a last-minute gift later on, or just a bit of extra sugar for that Christmas recipe, Google Express has a promotion running for first-time customers of the delivery service. If you place an order before December 31st and use the coupon code HOLIDAY 18, you can snag 20% off up to a $20 total discount.
If the recent side-wide eBay sales aren't impressing you, Google Express is here to save the day. For December 14th only (that's today!), you can get 15% off select items from a multitude of retailers. Items from the Google Store, Best Buy, hhgregg, and more are discounted.
The dust has settled. Our credit cards may be maxed out, and our eyes red and bleary, but we survived another Black Friday and Cyber Monday. While you hopefully scored a few great deals along the way, we'd forgive you for wanting to never think about shopping ever again. But on the off chance you're not done quite yet, you might be interested in learning about the latest batch of Google Express stores to go online, numbering well over a hundred.
[Update: Last day to qualify] Google Express offer can win you up to $500 in holiday shopping credit
Surviving the holidays can be one very expensive proposition. Beyond travel, dressing your best, and probably a few fancy meals in there, a lot of us also take on the expense of purchasing all manner of gifts for our friends and family. That can add up right quick, but Google's hoping to ease the impact on some lucky shoppers as it announces plans to give away up to $500 in Google Express credit.
Google Express still isn't the retail juggernaut Google would probably like it to be, but it's also far from hurting for partner stores. Every few weeks we update you with the latest stores to come on board, and it's rare that we don't see several dozen new faces. But while the numbers are there, we're at the point now where the majority of these new partners are companies on the smaller side — with odds better than not that you haven't even heard of most of them. This time, though, we've got at least one brand with some heavy-duty name recognition, as Nike begins Google Express sales.
Google Express has been adding additional retailers to its shopping/delivery service at a breakneck pace, and as we approach the short stretch to Black Friday, deals are starting to trickle out. The latest will net you a 20% discount on certain electronics, up to a $500 maximum. If you're interested, you should act fast, as it's the promo is valid today only.
There doesn't seem to be a particular rhyme or reason to the new stores Google brings on board with Google Express these days, but dang it if they ain't numerous. It feels like every time we bring you a list of the latest companies to sell their wares through Google's storefront, we've got dozens and dozens of entries representing all variety of retailers. This edition's no different, as we check out the 87 new stores to arrive on Google Express.
It's been a few months since I shared my list of 10 things I wished Google Home would do, and in the time since, three of these have come true and two were sort of working already and have been improved. One more item could soon become a reality, and it's the one we've all been asking for in the past months: Google Keep integration with Assistant.
Google knows no limits when it comes to adding new partners to its growing collection of Google Express retailers, and for the past few months now it's felt like every couple weeks we're seeing dozens of new stores register. That trend is not slowing down in October, and while it hasn't even been two weeks since we last caught up with all the Google Express additions, we've already got 40 new stores to check out.
Google One's benefits extend beyond storage space and customer service. Subscribers can save 20 percent on their next order from Google Express, up to $20. "Some qualified users" are eligible for an even larger discount of 25 percent, up to $25; Google doesn't explain what makes a qualified user, however.
This past summer we saw a lot of new stores come on board with Google Express, Google's one-stop-shop for, well, shopping. But while there's been a boatload of new retailers selling their merchandise through Google's online storefront, we've definitely noticed a trend away from big-name companies and towards a lot of more specialist stores. That situation doesn't look like it's about to fully reverse course any time soon, but today we've got that rare addition of a major new Google Express store, as Best Buy pulls up a chair.
Google has a massive battle ahead of itself if it seriously hopes to compete in the online-shopping game against the likes of Amazon. Honestly, it may already be a lost cause, but don't tell Google that — the company's been signing up new Google Express retail partners by the dozens. A few weeks back we shared with you a new group of stores popping up on the service, and now we've got a bunch more, all eager to align themselves with Google's retail experiment.
