Allo updates are starting to roll out, but as the trend has been going, there's not much to see in the main interface for this update. However, tearing down the APK has turned up signs of good things to come. Support for using Google accounts to find contacts and start conversations is going to be pretty robust as hints suggest we'll be able to sign in multiple accounts. Back in March, Google launched 'Family Link,' a way for parents to create and manage Google accounts for their children (13 or younger). The feature ended up being very impressive, but had two huge limitations - it only worked on Android 7.0 or higher, and you couldn't use existing Google accounts for your kids. Read More
Google knows a whole lot of things about you, from the apps you use to the searches you make, emails you get, and more. So the company has been working for a while to make it easier for you to check all your Google data and manage it from one place. When the new Google account interface launched last year, it even added a voice command to display it without having to dig through settings or remember a URL. Simply saying "Show me my Google account" would open the page and get you started.

When Allo and Duo were announced at Google I/O, one of their pillar features was their requirement for a phone number to activate. And as most of you have noticed, this has been very controversial among users: some like the simplicity of the approach, others loathe its limitations: no multi-device support, no web/desktop clients, and a requirement for workarounds to install on tablets, especially WiFi-only ones.

The Play Store is, of course, a core Google app. While this time there's no version change, in the last 24 hours, a new server-side change to the app has begun to roll out, this time affecting the Accounts screen and how it is organized, making it clearer which setting belongs to which section.
The change segregates the different options into four categories: Payment methods, Subscriptions, Rewards, and Order history. Formerly, these were all in one large top-level category encompassing everything to do with your account, but Google has obviously seen fit to change this and make it a little easier to work out what is being looked at.
