Blizzard's Diablo Immortal beta has apparently been quite the learning experience
Turns out more fixes and balancing are needed
Last October, Blizzard launched Diablo Immortal on Android as a closed beta for testing purposes. Despite the fact the game was initially announced in 2018 to a jeering audience, the game is still somehow a work in progress, though this long development time may just pan out for eager ARPG gamers, as it does appear player feedback is setting the tone now that Diablo Immortal's closed beta is over. Or at least this is what the most recent Diablo Immortal blog post alludes to, which specifically shares what was learned during the closed beta and what changes will be implemented before launch. So let's dig in and see what's up.
You can't get Fortnite on the Play Store, but you can get PUBG Mobile. The game that started the battle royale craze is getting an update on Android to v0.8.0, and it's a big one. There's a new map, new vehicles, clan perks, and much more. We've also got the APK if you don't want to wait for the Play Store rollout.
Pokémon GO was almost impossibly popular when it launched in summer 2016, but interest has waned since then. Some players came back when the game added gen 2 Pokémon to the mix, and now there will probably be another bump in the number of players. Niantic has announced more than 80 Pokémon from the Johto Region like Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile will be available in the game this very week. And that's not all.
Minecraft hit upon something primal in our human nature; we like to make things. This game lets you make pretty much anything your heart desires, provided it's composed of voxel-like blocks. The previously teased v1.0 update to Minecraft Pocket Edition has landed on Android, and it adds a number of nice gameplay extras, plus there's something of an endgame with a dragon to slay.
Pokémon GO players have been salivating at the notion of gen 2 monsters showing up in the game, but the holiday update isn't quite so grand. Okay, it's a lot less grand. There are a handful new Pokémon, which can only be hatched from eggs. Oh, and Pikachu has a new hat.
I suspect many of you have stopped playing Pokémon GO. Not only is it getting chilly in many areas, but there just isn't a lot to do once you've caught all the common Pokémon. You might be tempted to fire up the game again soon. A new update is rolling out with some welcome improvements, and there's a special Halloween event coming up in a few days.
