Yesterday was big news among us Android enthusiasts. Despite having a good idea of the announcements ahead of time thanks to all of the leaks, we got to see the new Pixel 3 phones for real and we've already started on our review. But in the meantime, Amazon has an interesting bundle offer on one of the best Android phones around: the Galaxy Note9. For today only, if you buy a 512GB Note9, you'll get a free Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch, saving you about $300 (going based on the watch's MSRP). Read More
The Galaxy Note9, arguably one of the best (and most expensive) Android phones you can buy right now, recently received an update. Despite getting bumped to the September security patch, the Note9 also received some camera quality improvements, including brightening faces in backlit conditions and HDR control accuracy. Read More
Google's ARCore team just rolled out a new update that appears to bring the augmented reality framework to several more phones and tablets. Some hot new (and upcoming) devices are on the list, like the Galaxy Note9, OnePlus 6T, and ROG Phone. These are also joined by some older models like the Sony Xperia X. Read More
The Note9 has officially been released for two months and we’re continuing to see deals for the Exynos variant (SM-N960F/DS), this time at the low price of $829.99 ($130 less than the MSRP). This dual-SIM version replaces the Snapdragon 845 with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 9810 chip and is suitable for use worldwide. We last saw a deal for this version on Sept. 4th at $867.
ARCore's list of supported devices was just updated earlier this month, but with the introductions of so many new Android devices, a second revision for the month of August was required. Samsung's latest and greatest, the Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Tab S4, are present, as are all three members of the Xperia XZ2 line and the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Read More
At $1,000, the Galaxy Note9 isn't cheap. Luckily, there are always ways to save some cash on Samsung flagships; for instance, the Chinese Snapdragon dual-SIM model was available for $70 off just a day after the Note9 officially went on sale in the US. But if you prefer Samsung's in-house chipsets, the Exynos dual-SIM Note9 (SM-N960F/DS) is currently on eBay for $866.99.
Every flagship phone seems to carry with it a handful of problems that don't get noticed except statistically long after reviews land and the launch is over. The Note9, it turns out, is no different. We've spotted reports that the curved glass display on the Note9 has a bit of a gap on the side that results in a bright line of "leaked" light along the edge. Read More
Many of the recent Pixel 3 leaks haven't exactly been celebrated — our own recent poll results show 60 percent of participating readers don't like the look of it — leaving the well-reviewed Samsung Galaxy Note9 in a strong position. Carrier deals only enhance the allure —for instance, T-Mobile's offer of up to $500 in trade-in credits (split over 24 months) on Note9 activations. Even better, though, is Costco's new offer in partnership with the carrier, which gifts the full $500 in one lump sum. Read More
