Samsung's Galaxy A52 is back down to just $400 at Amazon
An unbeatable deal on a smartphone with a 120Hz display
You don't have to break an arm and a leg to get a great phone these days, and Samsung's Galaxy A-series is evidence of that. With some incredible devices at affordable price points, getting some of the best features from the Galaxy S21 for a fraction of the cost is easy. In June, Samsung's Galaxy A52 dropped to just $400, an absolute steal for its 120Hz display. If you missed out, you've got another chance — it's back down to that all-time low price yet again. The A-series is chock full of phones, so if you've forgotten what makes this device so special, let's catch you up to speed. The A52 is no slouch, with a Snapdragon 750G, 6GB of RAM, and a massive 4,500mAh battery, but what makes it unique — especially at this price — is its 6.5" 120Hz OLED display. While it's capped at 1080p, it's tough to find phones with a high refresh rate without breaking the bank. Hell, Apple just released its first 120Hz-capable smartphones, and you could buy two of these for less than a single iPhone 13 Pro.

Samsung's newest mid-range phone sure does look a lot like the old one
The Galaxy A52s gets a new processor and... not much else
Samsung is one of the leading champions of mid-range phones right now, with its A-series of devices being massive hits across pretty much every price point imaginable. The Galaxy A52, in particular, is an excellent device, as reliable as it is affordable. While it's far from an aging phone — it was initially announced in March, with a guaranteed three years of software updates still ahead — Samsung has deemed it worthy of an early upgrade with an all-new model.
Samsung's finessing one of its best recent mid-rangers with a faster Snapdragon 778G, according to leak
And you might not have to wait too long to get it
We recently took a second look at the Samsung Galaxy A52, and although we absolutely liked the phone, it didn't quite wow us. If you were on the fence about picking one up, partly because it lacked power, Samsung is working on something a little new that might just interest you (like these fresh Samsung bois).
Samsung Galaxy A52 long-term review: Regular phone
'Mid-range' is getting to be so good it needs fewer and fewer qualifications

Samsung's A-series phones have become a known quantity: they're good, moderately priced devices, targeted at folks who might not care what processor their phone has or even know what RAM is. But as the delta between mid-range and flagship shrinks, less-expensive options like the Galaxy A52 are getting better and better — you don't have to give up nearly as much to save some money as you used to. The A52 is so solid, in fact, that I wouldn't mind using it full time — if it weren't for a couple sore spots, anyway.

Now's a great time to buy Samsung's Galaxy A52 5G and its 120Hz OLED display
An extra $100 off an already great price
Flagships are more expensive than ever these days, but you don't need to break the bank to get a great daily driver. Mid-range devices offer decent performance for the price point, and though they may not compete with gaming phones and foldables, they're more than enough for sending messages and watching a few YouTube videos. Samsung's Galaxy A52 5G is one of the best mid-rangers you can buy right now, and with today's deal, it's an even better value.

Samsung has put a lot of effort into improving its software reputation, and a big aspect of that change has been a renewed focus on issuing regular security updates. Over the last couple of years, Samsung has frequently managed to beat Google to the punch, and that continues even now as the Galaxy Note10, Z Fold2, and S21 have all received the April security patch, more recently followed by the Galaxy A72, Tab A 10.5 (2018), and Tab S7+.

Samsung's new budget phones are coming to the US, but only one will get three years of updates
An 'A' for every budget
Samsung already announced its international lineup of 2021 A-series devices — some last year, some last month. They look promising, with sleek designs, capable specs, and some serious improvements over last year's selection. But it turns out the US selection will look a bit different at launch. For one, no fun colors: the whole series will initially only be available in monochrome colorways stateside. There are also currently no plans to launch the A72 in the US. Still, there's plenty for American customers to be excited about — and soon.
If you have a Galaxy S9 or S9+, Samsung will be updating your phone less often now
Galaxy Tab S3 updates will stop entirely
Samsung customers hoping to hold the company to its promises of software updates are keeping a close eye on the update schedule page, and so are we. The S9 and its bigger brother the S9+ are now getting quarterly updates, a downgrade from the monthly schedule.
Samsung announces sequels to last year's smash-hit Galaxy A-series phones
Sleeker design, water resistance, and a 5G model
Samsung's been killing it with its mid-range offerings lately. We loved last year's Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 — between those and the higher-end S20 FE, the company had a lot to offer those of us who didn't want to drop a grand on a phone in 2020. Today, Samsung announced three new additions to its sub-flagship lineup: the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A72. They've got some big shoes to fill.
Samsung's next big Galaxy launch event is on March 17
The not-so-cryptic event name gives away what’s coming
Traditionally, Samsung’s Galaxy A series phones have gone official before their flagship counterparts, but it's the other way round this time. About two months after the Galaxy S21’s grand debut, Samsung is holding another digital event — Galaxy Awesome Unpacked — later this month to most likely unveil the long-rumored Galaxy A52 and A72 mid-rangers.
