Samsung's latest foldables are getting the September 2021 security patch internationally

The September patch is also available for a plethora of phones and tablets including the S21 series

Samsung is staying true to tradition this week as it releases the September 2021 security patch before any other company, in some cases before August had even finished. This update includes a new version of One UI for the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G, bringing features from the new Z Flip3 to the older devices internationally.

Samsung was ahead of the curve again this month when it released the May 2021 security patch for the international Galaxy S21 before anyone else. That continues now as several devices on T-Mobile receive the same update, even as the June security patch arrives for several devices.

Samsung has been trying to improve its image in software lately, especially when it comes to security updates for Android devices. What better way than to release an update several days early? That's the case with the May security update, which is already rolling out to several devices, with new features coming to select flagships.

Samsung Galaxy A32 5G review: A phone for today and tomorrow

A long-lasting update policy plus 5G, but you'll compromise on performance

5G isn't a reason by itself to buy a phone in 2021, no matter what carrier marketing might tell you. But as we're all now falling down the crest of that transition, it does mean a phone might last longer, and that's key to understanding the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. Right now, you can buy a faster and ostensibly better 5G mid-range phone for about the same price, and it's called the Nord N10 5G. But Samsung's better software commitment helps ensure you won't just be replacing it again in a year or two. It's a trade-off, and only you can say if it's worth it.

AT&T will sell you a new Samsung Galaxy A32 for as little as $150

Just make sure you read the fine print

The AT&T version costs 0 (the same as the unlocked phone) and it comes in any color you want, so long as you want "awesome black." The carrier is offering a $5-a-month for 30 months promotion if you start a new line or upgrade an existing one, which brings the total price down to just $150. That's a pretty sweet deal, so long as you're fairly sure you want to keep the same phone for two and a half years. This promotion ends on June 3rd.

The Galaxy A32 5G is the cheapest Samsung phone on Google Fi, but not the one you should get right now

Promotional discounts and some tempting Motorola and Pixel options make this deal less appealing at the moment

The Galaxy A series represents an excellent intersection of performance and price, and now there's a new option sold straight on Google Fi. Google's offering the Galaxy A32 5G, announced at the start of this year, sold directly from the Fi store. It's $280 outright, which is only a little more than you'll find the phone unlocked. But as good a deal as that is, new Google Fi customers probably shouldn't pick one up.

After accidentally teasing a few upcoming phones before removing them again earlier this year, Google has published a proper update to its ARCore support page, revealing that the augmented reality library is now supported by 24 more devices. This time around, all of them have already been announced.

Is the Samsung Galaxy A21 a good buy in 2021?

Long story short: Only on sale

Although its high-end devices tend to get the lion's share of attention from the media, Samsung offers a ton of downmarket options, too — many in the sub-$250 space, like the Galaxy A21. When we reviewed it last year, we concluded that, while it wasn't really groundbreaking option in the affordable space, it was a fine pick if it met your budgetary and performance needs. But is that still true today?

Samsung already announced its international lineup of 2021 A-series devices — some last year, some last month. They look promising, with sleek designs, capable specs, and some serious improvements over last year's selection. But it turns out the US selection will look a bit different at launch. For one, no fun colors: the whole series will initially only be available in monochrome colorways stateside. There are also currently no plans to launch the A72 in the US. Still, there's plenty for American customers to be excited about — and soon.

Samsung customers hoping to hold the company to its promises of software updates are keeping a close eye on the update schedule page, and so are we. The latest change to the constantly-updated list features a few additions, a few subtractions, and a significant change for a former flagship, the Galaxy S9. The S9 and its bigger brother the S9+ are now getting quarterly updates, a downgrade from the monthly schedule.

Last month, Samsung revealed the Galaxy A32 5G, which is expected to launch in India and other regions soon. However, the company is also prepping a non-5G version, which has now been made official on Samsung's website.

We just saw the Galaxy A32 leaked in press renders a few days ago, but Samsung has gone ahead and made this entry-level 5G phone official just a day before it's set to announce the flagship Galaxy S21 series. It seems like a solid phone, especially for those who value 5G bragging rights.

5G isn't just for Samsung's pricey flagship phones; the company has been trickling the tech down to its A-series phones as well. The Galaxy A32 will be the latest in the lineup to get 5G, and it'll also be the cheapest. WinFuture has published a collection of press renders showing the A32 in all its glory, and it looks decent for the most part.
