[Hands-on] Tekken Mobile, a shallow RNG-fest disguised as a fighting game

Tekken Mobile soft-launched in Canada back in August of 2017. Sadly, those of us who do not live in Canada have only been able to pre-register for the mobile fighting game adaptation in eager anticipation of its worldwide launch. Suffice it to say, I got tired of waiting. So here is a hands-on with Tekken Mobile, so you will know exactly what to expect when it finally launches for the rest of the world.

RobTop Games' latest rhythm-based platformer Geometry Dash SubZero just landed on the Google Play Store. Much like a previous entry in the series (Geometry Dash Meltdown), the developers newest release of Geometry Dash SubZero is also intended as a mini stand-alone expansion. It includes 3 new winter-themed levels and an original soundtrack by MDK, Bossfight, and Boom Kitty.

Bandai Namco just released 'Amazing Katamari Damacy,' an endless runner with a Katamari theme

After its original release on iOS and (a geo restricted release in Canada) on Android I had all but forgotten about Amazing Katamari Damacy. For one, it was yet another endless runner, which is nothing new no matter how cool and respected the Katamari theme is. And second, it released as a free-to-play title, and I am sure all of you are quite familiar with how that tends to impede on the enjoyment of just about any game. So I didn't quite feel like I was missing out on much. With it officially launched on Android I can't say that my opinion of it has changed.

Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Voltage is Bandai Namco's latest action RPG available on the Play Store

At the beginning of this month I wrote up an article about the pre-registration availability for Bandai Namco's action RPG brawler Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Voltage. Despite the tardiness of this post (thanks to a recent holiday), I figured it would still be worth it to follow up on the pre-registration announcement to let everyone know Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Voltage has indeed been officially released.

Capcom's free-to-play 'Puzzle Fighter' is available on the Play Store

Capcom has seen fit to bring a new Puzzle Fighter game to Android, with all the good and bad that entails. You see, unlike the previous games in the series, this release is free-to-play, which means there are plenty of in-app purchases and gacha mechanics thrown into the mix that can greatly alter the core competitive gameplay. So sure, we now have a legit Puzzle Fighter game to play through on Android, but it doesn't quite offer the same experience we all once enjoyed, which is a shame.

Thanks Sega!

Nintendo of America‏ has announced in a tweet that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be officially available this Wednesday November 22nd. NEKKI's latest release 'Shadow Fight 3' is a great looking fighting game hobbled by greed

NEKKI's Shadow Fight 3 is the third release in their Shadow Fight series of fighting games. For what started out as a Facebook flash-based game has now moved on to mobile since the release of Shadow Fight 2. For the most part, you can expect Shadow Fight 3 to have some great graphics and smooth gameplay, but it is entirely ruined by an incredibly greedy upgrade path.

Sonic Forces: Speed Battle is now live worldwide on the Google Play Store

Sega's Sonic Forces: Speed Battle has officially released worldwide as of today. Luckily this release is nothing like the poorly received PC and console version of Sonic Forces as this is an entirely different game focused on multiplayer PvP gameplay. Sadly it is a competitive free-to-play auto-runner filled with loot boxes, multiple currencies, wait timers, a long grind to unlock any new heroes, plenty of advertisements, and of course a whole range of in-app purchases that go as high as $99.99 per item.
