Big Dictionary.com update adds fresh new look and support for Marshmallow text selection search

Dictionary.com is one of the most popular dictionary apps on Android, with the free version racking up between 10 and 50 million downloads on the Play Store. An updated version of the app has just been released which brings a fresh coat of paint and some welcome new features.

One of the more useful highlights of version 7.0 is the added support for the floating text selection toolbar introduced in Android Marshmallow. This allows users to quickly search for a definition through the app by highlighting a word and selecting the "Define" option from the popup menu. Other nifty features include the ability to explore locally trending words and a list of your favorite and most recent searches.

Android 6.0.1 Fixed The Lag In The Copy/Share Floating Toolbar Popup

On the surface, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow looked like an aesthetic fix that brought nothing but dozens of new emojis to our devices. However, the more we use it, the more we discover small fixes that have been applied to improve the overall experience, like the jumping behavior of the Share menu, the failed MMS bug, and more. Another change you might notice is that the lag when waiting for the floating toolbar to pop up is gone.

On Android 6.0, if you selected some text to copy it or share it, you had to wait almost a second to see the floating toolbar show.
