Did you ever pick up the fantastic Twitter client Flamingo? Well, you missed your chance. Thanks to Twitter's ridiculous API token limit, another Twitter client has been cut down in its prime. Developer Sam Ruston confirms the client has been removed from the Play Store because it's almost out of tokens, so you can't buy it anymore.

Comparing the best Twitter clients for Android (2017 edition)

For the longest time, the Twitter Android app just wasn't very good. Sure it was functional, but it was clear that Twitter was focusing more on its iOS client. Third-party clients were, for that time period, the absolute best way to use Twitter on Android devices. Even though the official app has improved drastically over the past year or so, especially with the Material makeover, there are still plenty of excellent alternative clients.

Many Twitter clients have been abandoned after hitting the API token limit, and since it can be hard to keep track of which apps are still in active development, I figure a comparison might be a good idea.

Flamingo Is A Beta Material Design Twitter Client From The Maker Of Weather Timeline

There's no shortage of Twitter clients for Android, even if Twitter itself keeps trying to kill them and then back out of it. The latest comes from Sam Ruston, the developer of Weather Timeline, which has been praised both by Android Police and the higher powers at Google itself. Flamingo is a standard Twitter client that almost slavishly follows the Material Design guidelines. It's available in the Play Store for a dollar with no in-app purchases.
