The Sense falls to a new low price

Fitbit makes some of the best fitness trackers you can buy, but the company also offers a couple of devices in a more traditionally watch-like form factor. The premium Fitbit Sense offers excellent battery life, a sharp display, and premium construction in a stainless steel case, but at its $329 MSRP, it was a hard sell. But ahead of Prime Day, you can grab one for $171 on Amazon — the cheapest we've ever seen it.

You don't need to wait for Black Friday to score some sweet discounts on tech for the holiday season. If you were hoping to grab a smartwatch at a decent price, Fitbit's lineup of wearables — including the Sense and Inspire 2 — is heavily discounted at Amazon.

Your Fitbit watch can now tell you if you're snoring too much

Just like your significant other!

Snoring is more than an annoyance for whoever sleeps in the same room as you: it can be an indicator of some serious health issues like sleep apnea. That's why Fitbit has been working on adding snoring detection to its suite of sleep monitoring systems. The Google subsidiary has been preparing snoring detection (and the noise level thereof) since the summer at the very least, and it's now rolling out via a software update to the app and devices.

Pick up Fitbit's best smartwatch for its lowest price since Prime Day

A big discount on a great fitness tracker

Although Fitbit has yet to pivot to Wear OS 3, its current lineup of wearables are still outstanding fitness trackers in their own right. The Sense smartwatch is its most advanced gadget yet, with superb battery life and Google Assistant built right in. If you've been waiting for a great deal to pick one up, today's the day. You can grab a Fitbit Sense from Amazon for just $220.This price doesn't quite top its all-time low from back during Prime Day, though it's not too far off the mark. The Sense was a solid health and fitness tracker from the start, but later updates helped make it even better. An excellent OLED display is perfect for late summer runs, and Fitbit OS is more capable than ever. Google Assistant is also surprisingly good, while its battery can last nearly a week on a single charge (assuming you leave the always-on display disabled). Though its price has hovered around the $290 mark for a while, this deal discounts it another $70, making it an ideal upgrade if your current Fitbit feels a bit long in the tooth.

Fitbit's top of the line Sense smartwatch is under $200 for Prime Day, lowest price ever

The Fitbit Sense, Inspire 2, and Ace 2 all have dramatic discounts

Among Amazon's smorgasbord of Prime Day deals, a wide swath of Fitbit's wearable devices are on sale. The clear standout is the top-of-the-line Fitbit Sense, normally $300 but today discounted down to 9.95, even cheaper than the step-down Versa 3. It's available in either black or gold, with accompanying silicone bands, and it ships for free. Elsewhere in the Fitbit line you can pick up an Inspire 2 tracker for $56.99 ($33 off) or the kid-friendly Fitbit Ace 2 for just $29.99 (a whopping $40 off). These come in a variety of band colors, sadly lacking the Minions flavor that was recently revealed. It's worth noting that, technically, this is the rare case of Amazon showing deals on Google-branded hardware, since Google purchased Fitbit lock, stock, and barrel. It's also worth noting that future Fitbit models will run on the improved version of Wear OS, while preserving the company's much-loved current ecosystem. So if you're looking for fitness hardware with a bit of "future-proof" reliability, you might hesitate before pulling the trigger.Buy: Amazon

Google Assistant can now talk to you through your Fitbit

Don't worry, you can turn it off

In a lot of ways, Fitbit's wearables are the best option for Android-compatible smartwatches. That's probably why Google straight-up bought the company, and is folding its fitness tracking smarts into Wear OS later this year. But Fitbit continues to support its existing home-grown products with software updates. It just happens that the latest one also ties it in even closer with Google's ecosystem.

It's loaded with sensors to help track your health and fitness

Earlier today, Fitbit announced the Luxe, its newest tracker designed to bring a touch of fashion to your workouts, but you don't have to wait until it launches to start getting in shape. If you're looking for a more traditional form factor, the flagship Sense wearable is the gadget for you. It's filled with all sorts of sensors to help you keep track of your health, and you can grab one from Amazon today for just $249 — $80 off its usual price point. There's a lot to love about the Fitbit Sense, especially when it's on sale. It can monitor everything from your heart rate to stress levels, all while lasting nearly a week on a charge. A bright OLED display makes it easy to track workouts while out in the sun, and baked-in support for Google Assistant lets you issue any supported command right from your wrist. Our review found Fitbit's flagship smartwatch perfectly usable, and though there's always room for improvement, it's still one of the company's best trackers to date.

Fitbit has been expanding the range of its tracking sensors since well before its acquisition by Google. Just last month, the company added support for monitoring blood oxygen saturation and skin temperature to the Charge 4, but now it's looking to expand beyond surface-level information. In an effort to combat high blood pressure, Fitbit is launching a study to determine if its devices can track changes in your heart, right from your wrist.

Fitness tracking is one of the main reasons people love smartwatches, and Fitbit's offerings excel at it. Right now, Amazon has two of the company's watches on sale, including its newest watch, the Fitbit Sense. It has special health monitoring sensors, long battery life, Google Assistant integration, and it's just $259.95 at the moment — $70 off.The Sense excels at smartwatch essentials with a bold, bright 1.58" screen and long battery life. Fitbit says it should last up to six days, and we rated the longevity as a plus when we reviewed it back in October. There's also built-in GPS and support for Google Assistant thanks to a recent OS update. But one of the most unique features is the ECG sensor, which allows the watch to monitor your heart for atrial fibrillation. Check out our full review here for more details on the fitness-focused wearable.

Fitbit Sense review, one month later: Making a comeback

Fitbit rights a lot of wrongs with the first major update

In the era before modern smartwatches, Fitbit's name became synonymous with wearable fitness trackers. Full-fledged smartwatches have become the norm as consumers have demanded more and more from wearables, and Fitbit stepped in with the Ionic and Versa smartwatches a few years ago. I had high hopes that Fitbit would continue to improve and provide Android users a viable alternative to the increasingly frustrating Wear OS experience, but the Sense has some of the same shortcomings and bugs I remember from the Ionic. The Sense also has its own raft of new glitches that I find equally annoying. At the same time, Fitbit promises this watch can do so many things! It'll take your temperature, measure your blood oxygen, track workouts, and on and on. None of it feels quite done, though, and this is not a cheap watch. The higher $329 asking price probably has a lot to do with the plethora of sensors, each of which provides a bit more data. However, some of them don't seem very accurate or convenient to use, and Fitbit is adding all this hardware before it's even worked out some basic flaws in its software. There's enough wrong that the Sense is not worth the asking price, and it won't be unless Fitbit can squash the bugs and deliver on promised improvements.

Fitbit's new Sense and Versa 3 trackers are on sale starting at just $200 (up to $50 off)

One of the primary purposes for smartwatches is to keep track of fitness, something Fitbit's offerings have always excelled at. Right now, two of the company's newest offerings are on sale, including $50 off the top-of-the-line Fitbit Sense and $30 off the Versa 3 model from a variety of online retailers.

Fitbit OS 5.1 adds Google Assistant integration to the Sense and Versa 3

And you no longer need an SpO2 watchface if you want to monitor your oxygen saturation at night

Following its acquisition in progress, Google already confirmed that it would add the Assistant to the latest Fitbit smartwatches, the Versa 3 and the Sense, and today, it has arrived as part of Fitbit OS 5.1. The update will roll out to the two health trackers starting today, and it packs a few more things on top of the Assistant: Automatic SpO2 readings at night without the dedicated watchface, new SpO2 clockfaces, audible Alexa replies, and more.

Confirming an earlier teardown and statements from Fitbit around launch time, Google is continuing to assure us that Assistant is coming to recent Fitbit wearables "this winter." Fitbit's latest Sense and Versa 3 will be both be supported, bringing the convenience of Google's hands-free smart digital assistant to your wrist without the overhead of Wear OS.

Fitbit Sense's new ECG app is rolling out now

The company's most advanced heart health technology yet

Fitbit makes some of the most useful fitness-focused wearables these days. The company unveiled its new Sense smartwatch in August with the world's first electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor for detecting stress levels, and compatibility with a new ECG app that could even help users avoid strokes by alerting them to irregular heart rhythms. At least, it would, but at the time Fitbit was still waiting on FDA approval for that functionality. Now the feature is becoming available as the new ECG app rolls out to users.
