When Netflix shares news about its compatibility with various smartphones, it's almost always playing catch-up. That's precisely what we saw a few days ago, when the company started advertising support for Google's Pixel 6 phones. But every once in a while Netflix flips the script, and ends up teasing how it's going to work with a new device before it's even been announced. That's much more the type of situation we find ourselves in this evening, as we see Netflix getting ready to support Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S22 series.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series could launch with Exynos 2200 chip in the UK and Europe
On-sale date rumored to be February 25
The leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have mostly focused on the Ultra model and its new S Pen, the launch and availability of the phones, and the fate of the Samsung's Exynos 2200 chip. A new leak now focuses on the Galaxy S22+ specs and gives us another look at its design.

The chipset that will likely power the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in international markets, the Exynos 2200, is in the works, and by all accounts it's set to be Samsung's most impressive chip to date. It'll see the company partner with AMD for the SoC's GPU while also (hopefully) delivering top-notch performance comparable to Qualcomm's latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. A couple weeks back, Samsung teased an announcement scheduled for today, January 11th. After mysteriously not showing up to that event, the company has now confirmed the chipset will be announced with the Galaxy S22 series.
Samsung's upcoming chipsets will support the latest next-gen gaming feature: ray tracing
You'll finally get pretty lights and reflections on your phone
The announcement of Samsung partnering with AMD to include Radeon GPUs in Exynos mobile processors was huge. Phones have been getting better and better in terms of graphics, but while ARM Mali and Qualcomm Adreno GPUs are pretty good, they can't hold a candle to Nvidia GeForce and AMD Radeon, two of the biggest names in the GPU space. Radeon GPUs, in particular, are used not only in gaming PCs but also on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The arrival of Radeon for smartphones will be spearheaded by Samsung, and now we know about one key gaming feature to expect: ray tracing.

Super-fast charging is back, and the holepunch camera is sticking around
While some of us have our eyes on the upcoming Pixel 6, there's another flagship on the horizon that's not too far away. Samsung's next major phone release will be the Galaxy S22, a phone perfect for anyone who has yet to be won over by the company's foldables. We're learning a little more about the power behind that device today, including just how capable its charging situation might be.
