Cosmic Watch Is A Beautiful Model Of The Universe For Your Phone Or Tablet

Cosmic Watch is not a watch face, or even a conventional clock app. It's an app that models the Earth, the solar system, and most of the familiar constellations in 3D specifically as they relate to both real time and any point in the past. It's also stunningly beautiful - you don't often see educational apps with such a focus on aesthetic beauty. The screenshots really don't do it justice; check out the video below:

The app is equally concerned with current astronomy and time-keeping and the more classical astrology, at least as it relates to the real model of the universe - there aren't any horoscopes telling you that you'll meet tall, dark strangers.

Khan Academy's Android App Is Out Of Beta And Available To Everyone

It's been merely a week since the official Khan Academy app was made available in Beta on Android. Now the app is ready to graduate to be visible to everyone on the Play Store, not just those that joined the Google+ beta community.

The app lets you browse Khan Academy's huge collection of educational videos and explanations on various topics ranging from math to science, history, economics, art, and more. Find something you want to study later on, while you're in the subway for example? You can bookmark it to be saved and available offline to you. And everything you do is synced between the app and the website.
