Get an Echo Spot for $90 ($40 off), the lowest price yet

It's like an Echo Dot, but with a tiny screen

The Echo Spot is a tiny smart speaker with a tiny screen, comparable to the Lenovo Smart Clock, but with much more functionality. If that sounds like something you're interested in, it has now dropped to $89.99 — a $40 savings from the original MSRP, and the lowest recorded price yet.

If can't decide between getting a smart speaker or a display, the Echo Spot is a great compromise, as it's compact yet offers the same features as a larger intelligent screen. The device is designed to fit almost anywhere, and this deal will make its price almost as small as its size: Newegg is running a flash sale on the Echo Spot, selling it for just $90, which is $40 cheaper than its regular price.

A smart speaker in itself is convenient, but it becomes so much more useful when used in combination with intelligent plugs or lights. Their price can sometimes be discouraging, but thanks to this deal, you'll be able to set up your smart home infrastructure without breaking the bank. Best Buy is throwing in a TP-link smart plug for just $5 for the purchase of an Echo device, most of which are already discounted. An Echo Dot + TP-link smart plug combo comes down to just $27, while a regular Echo and smart socket bundle will cost you $55.

Just a few days after Google's "Dump your valentine" discount, Amazon has come up with its own deals, in time for February 14. These offers are more relevant, though, and are worth considering if you're short of gift ideas. Most of the giant's connected home devices are on sale, including Echo speakers and smart displays, Fire TVs, cameras, and even Kindles.Amazon's speakers have been marked down several times in the last few weeks, including deals on the Echo Plus and Echo Input, but the retailer is going stronger now to rival Google's bundles. Among the most appealing deals, there's a $15 discount on the Echo Input so you can bring Alexa to any regular speaker or audio system for just $20. If you'd rather buy a smart product from the get-go, Amazon is taking some dollars off most of its Echo line-up.

Every deal season, one thing you can depend on is that Amazon will place its first-party Kindle, Echo, and Fire hardware on discount. It's such a regular part of Amazon's sales that we often overlook it as expected, familiar, and therefore uninteresting. But if you're in the market for an Alexa-powered smart speaker, cord-cutting Fire TV recast DVR, or an Amazon Prime-compatible streaming device, now is the time to pick one up.Amazon Hardware

Alongside its refreshed hardware lineup, Amazon (and Microsoft) announced back in September that Skype calling was coming to Alexa devices later in the year. Well, it's later in the year, and the new functionality is rolling out starting today. You can link your Skype account to your Alexa devices in the Alexa app.

Security cameras are a smart thing to have. Best Buy's got a deal on one particularly compelling cam, the Canary All-in-One. Right now, when you buy the camera, you get a free Echo Spot. Not a bad deal considering the Spot is $129.99 on its own.

Amazon’s Alexa app serves as the gateway between users and their smart home devices, such as the recently updated Echo line of speakers. Almost a year ago, the app reached 10 million downloads and shortly after that, the company updated it with voice commands. Now it’s getting a major redesign which brings a new device view that lists all companion units on one screen.

Today Amazon took the wraps off a tremendous pile of Echo and Alexa-related hardware. Chief among the standalone Echo devices are the redesigned Echo Dot, Plus, and Show, as well as a slightly mysterious invitation-based Echo Auto. As expected, they're mostly incremental improvements, with better and louder sound or added Zigbee hub functionality.Amazon's Alexa is one of the most popular and widely used digital assistants out there, and now it has a whole new generation of hardware available for pre-order. Let's take a look at each individually.

Smart home devices tend to get more functional the more you have around. Take the Ring Video Doorbell Pro for example. When paired with an Echo Spot, the latter can show you who's at the door with a voice command — and Best Buy has a way to ease the financial burden of realizing that futuristic dream. My Best Buy rewards members can save $150 with purchase of both the Doorbell and the Spot.

Amazon Alexa is currently available in nine countries via the company's Echo speakers, but that number is about to grow by one. The Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Spot can now be pre-ordered in France, with hundreds of new skills being introduced for the French market. The Echo and Echo Dot will begin shipping on June 13th, with the Echo Spot following in July. All three speakers are seeing 50% discounts for the launch.

To celebrate having been voted number 1 in Harris Poll's annual corporate reputation survey for its third year straight, Amazon is discounting several Alexa-enabled devices and bundles by 20% or more off their original price. The number of items that are on discount is pretty significant, so we've copied them all below.

Amazon's Alexa devices already have integration with several home security camera systems, and Canary is the latest. After announcing this feature in early 2018, it's now live. With a simple voice command, you can stream your Canary feed to a compatible Alexa display.

It's Super Bowl Sunday, which means the culmination of the NFL season is here, an evening of gluttony and imbibing is awaiting some of us, and corporations are ready to flaunt some big-swing commercials. Apparently, this unofficial American holiday also means it's time for Amazon to offer some deals on their Alexa products, including a first-time discount for the Echo Spot. Here's a rundown of Amazon's Game Day Deals:

Amazon and Google are in a race to expand their voice assistants to more countries. While both Google Assistant and Alexa are already available in the United Kingdom, neither have a presence in Ireland. Today, Amazon announced that Alexa is officially available in the country, with some of the company's Echo speakers also making a debut.

It's well known that Amazon's Alexa got a head start over the Google Assistant in the battle of the butlers, and it's most apparent when you look at the different form factors available. After the Echo Show, the alarm clock-sized Spot is the second Echo device to come with a screen and it costs around half as much. It went on sale in the US late last year, and now it's also available in the UK, Germany, and Austria.

The new Echo Spot was first announced back at the end of September, along with a host of related Echo devices like the Echo Plus, Echo Buttons, and Fire TV 4K. At the time, all you could do was place a pre-order. But today is the official release, and although the Echo Spot is now formally available for 9.99, it's already backordered until well after Christmas. Reviews for Amazon's new device started landing yesterday. Ostensibly an Alexa-powered smart alarm clock—according to the majority of recent reviews—the Echo Spot is a smaller version of Amazon's Echo Show. It's a compact device with a speaker, round 2.5" screen, front-facing camera, 4-microphone array, and full integration into Amazon's Alexa ecosystem. That means, just like the vast majority of Amazon's other Echo devices, you can use it to control all the hardware in your smart home or integrate via "skills" with other apps and services. As a couple of reviews have already noted, the idea of having an always-on internet connected device on your bedstand might be sketchy enough by itself, but add in the fact that it's got a camera, and not everyone will enjoy the idea. Of course, Amazon isn't actually advertising the Echo Spot as an alarm clock, but most reviews seem to be pointing the device's utilities in that direction. There are plenty of use-cases for it outside the bedroom, though.

Amazon's hardware lineup occasionally gets a refresh, like with the new Echo Show earlier this year. But today is different. Amazon decided to announce six new products today, including sequels to the incredibly popular Echo speaker.
