In addition to the regular Echo smart speaker, Amazon sells an upgraded model called the Echo Plus. It offers improved sound and a built-in Zigbee hub for select smart home devices, and now you can get it for just $74.99. That's 50% off the usual price of $149.99. Plus, Amazon is throwing in a free Philips Hue smart bulb to sweeten the pot.Amazon's Echo Plus does all the things you'd expect an Alexa speaker to do, like control smart home devices, stream music, call other speakers (or people with the Alexa app installed), use third-party skills, and more. Compared to the regular Echo speaker, the Plus has improved audio quality and a built-in Zigbee hub for directly connecting to some smart home devices. While most smart home products use a standard Wi-Fi connection these days, the Zigbee hub still comes in handy for Sylvania and Hue bulbs, Yale locks, and more.

The Echo Plus is Amazon's high-end smart speaker, with improved sound and a built-in Zigbee hub over the base model. It's usually priced in the $100-150 range, but now you can get it for the lowest recorded price yet — $79.99.Amazon's Echo Plus does all the things you'd expect an Alexa smart speaker to do, like stream music, control smart home devices, call other speakers (or people with the Alexa app installed), use third-party skills, and more. Christmas is coming in fast (it's a week from today, for anyone keeping score), and the window to finish up your gift shopping list is quickly closing. If you're in need of some earbuds, smart home accessories, or charging gear to round out your holiday haul, we've got you covered. Even better, if you order any of these items today, Amazon promises they'll arrive before Christmas morning.

The original Echo Plus is a bit old at this point, as it was originally released in late 2017, but it's still a powerful speaker with the added bonus of functioning as a smart home hub. For today only, you can grab one for just $50 — 67% off the original price, and 50% off the last official price of $99.99.

A smart speaker in itself is convenient, but it becomes so much more useful when used in combination with intelligent plugs or lights. Their price can sometimes be discouraging, but thanks to this deal, you'll be able to set up your smart home infrastructure without breaking the bank. Best Buy is throwing in a TP-link smart plug for just $5 for the purchase of an Echo device, most of which are already discounted. An Echo Dot + TP-link smart plug combo comes down to just $27, while a regular Echo and smart socket bundle will cost you $55.

Just a few days after Google's "Dump your valentine" discount, Amazon has come up with its own deals, in time for February 14. These offers are more relevant, though, and are worth considering if you're short of gift ideas. Most of the giant's connected home devices are on sale, including Echo speakers and smart displays, Fire TVs, cameras, and even Kindles.Amazon's speakers have been marked down several times in the last few weeks, including deals on the Echo Plus and Echo Input, but the retailer is going stronger now to rival Google's bundles. Among the most appealing deals, there's a $15 discount on the Echo Input so you can bring Alexa to any regular speaker or audio system for just $20. If you'd rather buy a smart product from the get-go, Amazon is taking some dollars off most of its Echo line-up.

Every deal season, one thing you can depend on is that Amazon will place its first-party Kindle, Echo, and Fire hardware on discount. It's such a regular part of Amazon's sales that we often overlook it as expected, familiar, and therefore uninteresting. But if you're in the market for an Alexa-powered smart speaker, cord-cutting Fire TV recast DVR, or an Amazon Prime-compatible streaming device, now is the time to pick one up.Amazon Hardware

Last month, Amazon announced a handful of new Alexa-powered devices. The Echo Auto (an Alexa device for your car), third-generation Echo Dot, second-generation Echo Plus, Echo Sub (a subwoofer for other Echo speakers), Amazon Smart Plug, and second-generation Echo Show were some of the new additions. Most of those products were previously available for pre-order, but now some have been officially released. At the time of writing, the only product in stock is the new Echo Plus. The rest of the products are severely back-ordered — the new Echo Dot and Smart Plug won't be in stock until late October, and the new Echo Show is delayed to November 4. That being said, you can still purchase all the devices, even if they'll take a month (or more) to arrive. The new devices can be bought from the links below below.

Amazon’s Alexa app serves as the gateway between users and their smart home devices, such as the recently updated Echo line of speakers. Almost a year ago, the app reached 10 million downloads and shortly after that, the company updated it with voice commands. Now it’s getting a major redesign which brings a new device view that lists all companion units on one screen.

Today Amazon took the wraps off a tremendous pile of Echo and Alexa-related hardware. Chief among the standalone Echo devices are the redesigned Echo Dot, Plus, and Show, as well as a slightly mysterious invitation-based Echo Auto. As expected, they're mostly incremental improvements, with better and louder sound or added Zigbee hub functionality.Amazon's Alexa is one of the most popular and widely used digital assistants out there, and now it has a whole new generation of hardware available for pre-order. Let's take a look at each individually.

Amazon has started sales of the Alexa-powered Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus smart speakers in Japan. Pre-orders opened on March 30th, with devices scheduled to ship starting on April 3rd. This release is moderately delayed—Amazon announced last October that Echo would release in Japan "later this year," on the same day Google announced Google Home sales to start in Japan that week. Half a year later, Amazon has finally followed through.

To celebrate having been voted number 1 in Harris Poll's annual corporate reputation survey for its third year straight, Amazon is discounting several Alexa-enabled devices and bundles by 20% or more off their original price. The number of items that are on discount is pretty significant, so we've copied them all below.

Last October, Amazon announced that its line-up of Echo speakers was coming to India, but only for those who requested an invite and got approved. Later in the month, the Echos started shipping to those who pre-ordered them and now the invite-only system is over and anyone can purchase an Echo or an Alexa speaker straight from Amazon.

Amazon and Google are in a race to expand their voice assistants to more countries. While both Google Assistant and Alexa are already available in the United Kingdom, neither have a presence in Ireland. Today, Amazon announced that Alexa is officially available in the country, with some of the company's Echo speakers also making a debut.

Today is a big day for Canada, at least when it comes to mega-retailer Amazon's products and services. The company has announced Canadian availability of its Alexa-powered smart hardware with a special short-term promotional discount, as well as the regional availability of its Prime Music streaming service. Developers can even get in on the action, as some Alexa-related software and hardware development tools are also now available in the country. So far only three of Amazon's Echo products are available in Canada. For a limited time, you'll be able to pick up the Echo for CDN$ 99.99, the Echo Dot for CDN$ 49.99, and the Echo Plus for CDN$ 169.99. Prices for each will later rise to CDN$ 129.99, CDN$ 69.99, and CDN$ 199.99, respectively, so this represents a non-trivial 28-16% discount. Pre-orders are live now, though none of the hardware will be released until December 5th.

A few weeks ago, Amazon announced that the Alexa voice assistant would be coming to India via the second-generation Echo, the Echo Plus, and the Echo Dot. Fast forward to today, and those three Echo products have begun to ship to those customers who bought them by invitation on Amazon India. The new Echo and Echo Plus actually began shipping in the US today as well.

Amid all the Google fuss yesterday, we nearly missed the news that Amazon was paving Alexa's way to Asia by launching in India first, with Japan said to be following later this year.

Amazon's hardware lineup occasionally gets a refresh, like with the new Echo Show earlier this year. But today is different. Amazon decided to announce six new products today, including sequels to the incredibly popular Echo speaker.
