Verizon Updates The Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge To Android 5.1.1, Adds A Few Extra Goodies Too

Since their release, the Verizon versions of Samsung's 2015 flagships (well, the smaller ones anyway) have been given only a couple of minor service updates. That changes today, at least according to the carrier's support site: both the Galaxy S6 and its curvy brother the S6 Edge are getting bumped from Android 5.0, which they've been running since launch, to 5.1.1, the latest official release. The software version is LMY47X.G920VVRU3BOG5 for both phones.

Unlocked Versions Of The Original Moto G LTE Are Getting Android 5.1 In The United States

The original Moto G started a revolution for mid-range phones - specifically by introducing the idea that they didn't have to suck. Motorola is still keeping the first-gen Moto G updated, and today (or late last night), unlocked versions of the Moto G LTE in the United States started receiving the over-the-air update to Android 5.1. This was pretty much expected, since Motorola dropped the kernel source code for the update last week and tested it in soak before that.

LG Issues G Watch Update In Response To Complaints About Corrosion And Skin Irritation

Reports began circulating over the last couple of days about an OTA update making its way out to owners of the LG G Watch, bumping the build number from KMV78V to KMV78Y. No official changelog has been posted for the update, but it looks like its main purpose is to fix the growing problem of corrosion buildup on the exposed POGO pins located on the back of the smartwatch.

One M7, One M8, Galaxy S4, And Z Ultra Google Play Editions Are Now Receiving The Android 4.4.3 OTA Update [Updated: All Zip Links]

Holy crap, that was fast. According to a flood of tips we just received, at least some owners of Google Play Edition devices are now seeing updates to over-the-air Android 4.4.3. The latest incremental update to KitKat was just published yesterday - some Nexus devices don't even have it. At the time of writing (Tuesday afternoon US) we've been told that the Google Play Editions of the HTC One M7 (2013 model) and the Galaxy S4 are receiving over-the-air updates.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Rolling Out To Galaxy S4 LTE (GT-I9505), Starting In Germany

Samsung started pushing an update to KitKat for the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500) less than a week ago. Now, it's time for the Snapdragon-equipped S4 (GT-i9505) to see some action. In addition to the standard Android 4.4.2 feature set, this update will also bring some tweaks to the lockscreen, including a shortcut to the camera and full-screen album art during music playback, an improved landscape-mode keyboard, several bug fixes, and the now standard white KitKat status icons.

Samsung Galaxy S III owners have waited patiently for their Android 4.3 update, and though Samsung put the international version's update on hold, American carriers have started to push out OTAs to their customers. T-Mobile got the ball rolling yesterday, and now AT&T is doing the same. The company is distributing the most recent version of Jelly Bean via an update to build number I747UCUEMJB.

Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Gets Software Update Version MJ4 That Should Fix Awful Call Quality Issues And A Broken Keyboard Handwriting Mode

Sprint customers typically complain about the lackluster data coverage, but they at least have generally been able to make phone calls. Sprint Announces Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2) For The Kyocera Torque, Coming July 5th

If you bought into the ruggedized LTE device hype and picked up a Kyocera Torque on Sprint, then good news is afoot: your little tank is getting its taste of Jelly Bean beginning in just three days' time. According to Sprint's update blog, the Torque should begin receiving an update on July 5th that not only brings Android 4.1.2 to the rough-and-tough handset, but also international calling, the ability to "power cycle," email sync fixes, and enhancements to sleep mode.
