Sprint And Samsung Delay GRJ90 Update For Nexus S 4G, Pull EF09 Update For Transform

July 11th has come and gone, but owners of the Samsung Nexus S 4G still haven't received the bug-fixing, NFC-enhancing GRJ90 update that was supposed to begin its rollout yesterday. Well thanks to Android Central, we now have an idea of why this is so:

Surprise, Surprise - Gingerbread Update For Galaxy S "Temporarily Suspended"

Don't tell us you didn't see this one coming: Samsung's Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S has been "temporarily suspended." Great.

This time, the abeyance was actually brought about by Google - apparently, the update includes "an issue," though Vodafone claims that their variant of the device is not affected. Nonetheless, the 2.3 software is no longer available from KIES, and won't be until it is "reinstated" (which will happen "as soon as possible").

Latest Thunderbolt "Release Date" Shot Down

You can chalk up another false rumor on the list of "impending releases" for the HTC Thunderbolt. The latest speculation to be debunked is that the March 10 date that had been teased is a no-go, according to a leaked Verizon chart picked up by Droid Life. The internal memo shows the much-delayed Verizon phone falling sometime after the iPad 2 launch (which is March 11).

This news makes sense, as, despite the anticipation for the first 4G phone on Verizon's LTE network, the iPad 2 launch would likely take priority with Big Red.

LG: "Froyo Isn't Good Enough For Our Tablet, We'll Wait For A More Suitable Version Of Android"

It's been so long off the radar that you can be forgiven for forgetting about it, but LG has had plans to release an Android tablet originating all the way back in July.
