Most of today's news has revolved around the new products added to the Google Store. However, Google has removed several older products, as well. These include the Daydream View VR headset, the Google Clips camera, and the first generation of Pixel Buds. Store listings for these devices are no longer visible without a direct link. If you attempt to access the Google Store pages for these products directly, you'll find a "no longer available" message that has replaced the purchase option.
Google has just pushed out what we expect to be the last of Thanksgiving season's deals. For Cyber Monday Google has killed the previous $150-200 discounts for the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, replacing them with a new promo that features a free Home Hub plus in Google Store credit. Other discounts include a Daydream View for $40, customizable Pixel cases for $20 off, and a sort of smart home starter kit that comes with a Home Hub, Home, and Wifi three-pack for a hair under $450.

The Daydream View (2017) virtual reality headset was announced last October along with the Pixel 2 devices, bringing better lenses, a better fabric material, and a controller that matches its color. This has been an exciting week. Now that the dust has settled from Google's event on Wednesday, we've been digging into the details of each product a bit more, and there's a lot to look at.
Back at I/O in May, Google teased the Daydream 2.0 update, codenamed Euphrates, which would bring a more social aspect to using the VR platform by casting what the user sees on another screen. Daydream 2.0 isn't ready just yet, but the latest update to version 1.10.170912063 already has that capability, as well as support for the 2nd generation View headset and the new Pixel 2 phones.

Google unveiled its Daydream View VR headset alongside the Pixel in October 2016. At $79, it was a good way to bring virtual reality to the masses, with its comfortable fit and included controller. At Verizon's current price of $39.99, a purchase is virtually (ha, see what I did there?) a no-brainer if you're in the market for a VR headset.
We've had the Daydream View VR headset here in the States for nearly half a year now, but the same can't be said for many other countries. However, Google has just announced that the Daydream View can now be purchased in India from major retailer Flipkart for 6499 rupees.
VR is not everyone's cup of tea yet and that's understandable. Great headsets cost a lot of money and require a powerful computer setup, and affordable headsets have a lot of limitations and don't really provide a good-enough reason to use them once the novelty wears off. But Google's Daydream View is one of the most decent options in the latter category and it's about to get better once Daydream 2.0 rolls around and casting capabilities let you share your experiences with friends and people around you.
Because Google vastly underestimated the number of people who would want a Pixel smartphone, many had, or have had, delayed shipments - some up to 2 months - and other issues with actually getting their hands on the device they had purchased. Telus even sent out an email saying Google had stopped production, although this was later proved false. To make up for this, Verizon, the exclusive carrier for the Pixel, has started sending out Daydream View headsets to "a subset" of its customers.
