We've all faced a similar situation: You're looking up some restaurants online, you find a nice one and want to call them up to make a reservation. Unfortunately, you end up dialing a wrong number and have to try again. Wouldn't it have been much easier if you could just click that number to call it from your phone?
It's already possible if you own Apple devices, but, surprisingly, Google's Android and Chrome OS don't communicate so seamlessly with each other. Nevertheless, this is about to change as the company may allow both operating systems to share clipboard, phone numbers, and Wi-Fi credentials with each other.
At the company's Build 2017 event, Microsoft unveiled 'Microsoft Graph' - a service that will sync your workflows across Windows 10, Android, and iOS. To show off what Graph is capable of, the company also announced the 'Cloud-powered Clipboard,' which is exactly what it sounds like.
When you're copying text, it's usually so you can do something with it. Mime-O might be able to save you a few taps with it's clipboard popup. Each time you copy some text, Mime-O offers to drop it into a message, look up a definition, or send it right to your computer clipboard. This app came out a few weeks ago, but it's new to us.
The app consists of a few small buttons at the bottom of your screen. They only show up immediately after copying text, but you can trigger all three of the aforementioned functions right there.
If you've been looking for a good clipboard management tool for Android, there's no better time to take a look at Clipper. The app just updated to v2.1, which brings a pretty incredible feature: cross-device syncing. This means you can copy text from one device, and paste it on another. That's just badass.
Of course, there are potential security worries with a feature of this nature – like passwords, for example. Personally, I copy passwords from KeePassDroid quite frequently, and I know Artem uses LastPass to do the same thing. Understandably, this is the type of information that no one wants shared across multiple devices through the cloud.
