Google+ App Updated To 2.1 With Ice Cream Sandwich Styling, Major Enhancements And Bug Fixes

Update: It appears the widget for Google+ has disappeared in this update, and images now appear somewhat compressed and pixelated. It's unclear if this is intentional (It seems one of the app's developers has said the widget will return soon, over on Google+.)

The Google+ app team just dropped a surprisingly massive update onto the Market, and it brings changes galore. In fact, there's so many changes that they've called it a "completely new app." Take a look:

The UI has taken a turn towards the styling we've seen in Ice Cream Sandwich, and menus have been reworked to resemble the next version of Android as well.

Dungeon Defenders Updated To Second Wave - Brings Sweeping Changes, New UI, More Content

If you haven't played Dungeon Defenders, and you own an Android phone or tablet with a Tegra 2 or other dual-core processor, you're missing out. The highly popular tower defense RPG was updated today, though "update" probably doesn't do the changes Trendy Entertainment made to the hit title justice, because it's more like a content and UI overhaul.

Trendy has long promised an update from "First Wave" to "Second Wave," and had promised more content, as well as major changes to the look and feel of the UI.

Google+ For Android Updated - Now With Notifications That Are Less Horrible

Update: Now with video from the head project manager of Google+

Google+ for Android has been updated to version 1.0.5 with a pile of usability fixes that you're going to love. Rather than list them ourselves, take a look at the changelog below:

What's in this version:

  1. Improved notifications reliability
  2. "_add to circle" notifications shown in bulk
  3. Share stream posts to individual people
  4. Clicking a +mention takes you to the person’s profile
  5. +mentions now autofill from your Circles
  6. Stream no longer resets to top when screen is rotated
  7. Nearby accuracy (note: we assume this means accuracy is improved)
  8. Start a 1:1 huddle from a person’s profile or a group huddle from a circle profile
  9. Hide 1:1 huddles
  10. Clickable links in huddles
  11. Improved autocomplete when adding a person to a huddle

These are all much-needed changes - many that we've heard users complain about.

[Updated: Now With Changelog] Google Maps 5.3.1 Arrives Without A Changelog Or: How Google Maps Got More 1-Star Ratings In A Day Than Ever Before

When developers release updates to their apps without listing the changes, normally about half of the Market comments turn sour, especially considering Google added the changelog feature into the core of the Market a few months ago. When Google itself does it to one of the flagship products... let's just say things are not pretty.

Version 5.3.1 of Google Maps arrived a few hours ago without a single mention of any novelties or bug fixes.

For Developers: Live On The Edge - Upgrade To The Latest Eclipse ADT (Currently v9.0.0) Before It Is Released [How-To]

We, Android developers, spend our days staring at a computer screen, most likely at one of Eclipse's windows. Eclipse is an amazing IDE in theory, but it never quite feels complete and polished, mostly due to the fact that it's powered by open source enthusiasts and is based almost entirely on plugins (if you want to get it to do anything useful, that is).

Being Android developers, the plugin we are using every day is ADT - Android Development Tools, written by Google engineers, mostly @tornorbye and @droidxav who I've been conversing over twitter lately and annoying with filing numerous ADT bugs (hi, if you're reading!).
