Sony's next mid-range Xperia looks promising in these leaked unofficial renders

The Xperia 10 V could make its debut in May this year

Sony is no longer the force it used to be in the smartphone business with its Xperia lineup of phones failing to compete with the industry's best smartphones, at least in retail terms. This is partly due to the Japanese manufacturer's unwillingness to adapt to changing times, resulting in flagship phones that don't have cutting-edge features with even the $1,800 Xperia Pro-I failing to impress. Regardless, the company isn't giving up on Xperia yet. A new leak indicates it's ready to give people something that won't burn a hole in their pockets.

If you were hoping for a small Pixel flagship, we've got some bad news for you

The Pixel 6 won't be as big as the 6 Pro, but it's still pretty massive

We got our best look yet at the upcoming Pixel 6 Pro yesterday — gone is the XL suffix, apparently — and now it's time to get a feel for the regular Pixel 6. Predictably, it's a smaller version (although not by much) of the Pro model with the same centered punch-hole selfie cam and the same intriguing horizontal rear camera module. Unfortunately, there's one less lens compared to the bigger phone.

New Huawei Mate 40 Pro renders reveal more about the upcoming flagship line

Photo renders and a video give us a 360° perspective

Huawei's recent restrictions in the US may still be a problem, but the Chinese company is nevertheless now the biggest smartphone maker in the world. Its flagship device, the Mate 30, was released last year, but you couldn't run Google apps on it. Now Huawei is gearing up to launch the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro, as CAD renders and a video have hit the web.

Sony officially introduced the compact 6.1-inch Xperia 5 at IFA in September last year, so it's no surprise that the first leaks of a possible successor or sister model start showing up now. CAD renders of some Xperia 5 Plus have been published on Slashleaks. The device looks almost identical to its smaller sibling but comes with a bigger screen and a headphone jack.

The coming year may mark a return of OnePlus-branded mid-range phones after nearly four years of inactivity, according to a new leak. A set of CAD-based renders shared by 91mobiles and OnLeaks show the alleged OnePlus 8 Lite with a flat display and a centered hole-punch camera. The handset takes design cues from the OnePlus 8 and the 8 Pro that surfaced in similar renders in October.

The IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin is just around the corner, and we now know a little more about what to expect from LG. The South Korean OEM looks set to launch an updated version of the LG G8 from earlier in the year alongside the dual-screen V60 it teased last week. Renders of the LG G8X, as it will reportedly be marketed, are now circulating courtesy of leaker Steve H.McFly, better known as @OnLeaks.

Last month, Google broke with tradition and showed off the rear of the Pixel 4 way before it's due to launch. This was in response to a pretty vague and unattractive initial render produced by @OnLeaks, but this time he's back again with something more tangible. His latest renders show a Pixel 4 XL with a large forehead and bottom-firing speakers — at least there's no hideous notch, I guess.

What do you do when your reputation is declining and you need a shiny new product to give you a boost? Add more cameras, of course. Motorola appears to be plowing ahead with Moto Mods despite them not being a very good idea in the first place and the G-series' best days might be behind it. There's also little to suggest that a new RAZR device with a folding screen will be any good, but maybe a new quad cam phone is will be the answer to the Lenovo-owned company's problems.

Huawei released some impressive phones in 2018. In March, it announced the P20 and P20 Pro. Then, in October, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro were launched, the latter being a crowd favorite. We now have the renders of the upcoming Huawei P30 courtesy 91mobiles and OnLeaks.

The LG V30 will be the South Korean company's second flagship phone of 2017, after the G6, when it's launched later in the year. The last two iterations have included a secondary display and an even heftier price tag than the G series. Thanks to OnLeaks and his latest collaboration we now know what it's probably going to look like. These renders are produced using supposed factory CADs and should be pretty accurate, barring any last minute design changes.
