Ultimate Ears BLAST app now supports grouping with up to eight speakers, 11 months after it was promised

Back in April of last year, Ultimate Ears announced that its BLAST and MEGABLAST Bluetooth speakers would be receiving a number of features that they really should have come with out of the box. Nearly a year later, one of those features — grouping — has finally been added with an update to the BLAST companion app.

[Update: Sold out] Deal alert: UE BLAST falls to a jaw-droppingly low $65 ($115 off) on Amazon

Logitech seems to be having some trouble moving units of its Ultimate Ears BLAST Bluetooth speaker. At its launch price of $229.99, it was priced very high, and Logitech probably sold about three of them. The company has now taken a complete 180 and is offering the BLAST for a stunningly low $64.95 on Amazon just days after Best Buy began offering it for $89.99.

[Deal Alert] UE BLAST down to just $90 ($90 off) for Best Buy members

Ultimate Ears released its latest duo of speakers, the BLAST and MEGABLAST, several months ago. We reviewed them and found that they sounded good, though they were expensive and lacking features that were found in the company's previous speakers. Since then, those features have been added and prices have fallen, making them a lot more appealing. Best Buy is currently offering the BLAST for only $89.99, $90 off the current list price and a whopping $140 off MSRP.

[Deal Alert] Ultimate Ears BLAST with POWER UP dock down to $129.99 ($139.99 off) from Verizon

Ultimate Ears' new BLAST is a good speaker, but it's not without its flaws. One of those crucial flaws was its high price; at $229.99, the BLAST was more expensive than basically any of its competitors. However, recent discounts have made the price a lot more palatable, and this one from Verizon for $129.99 with the POWER UP dock included may be the best one yet.

[Deal Alert] UE BLAST only $99.99 for a $229.99 portable speaker ($130 off)

Ultimate Ears makes some really great portable speakers. One of their newest models is the UE BLAST, which was released earlier this year and which Richard reviewed last month, saying that it sounded great and could reach an "absurdly loud" volume. His main criticism was actually the speaker's price of $229.99, which, while arguably justified, is still a lot of money to put down for a portable speaker. Luckily, Amazon and Best Buy are selling the UE BLAST at a crazy discount today for only $99.99 — a whopping $130 less than its original price and almost half of what had previously been its best deal ever.

[Deal Alert] Ultimate Ears BLAST with POWER UP dock down to $179.99 ($90 off), MEGABLAST with dock down to $278.98 ($61 off)

We published our review on Ultimate Ears' BLAST and MEGABLAST exactly one month ago today. They're good speakers overall, but they're not without their caveats. One of the most major issues we found is the price; $229.99 for the BLAST and $299.99 for the MEGABLAST, plus another $39.99 for the definitely-needed POWER UP dock, is a lot of dough for an imperfect product in this category. Today, however, Amazon has brought the BLAST and POWER UP bundle's price down to a much more palatable $179.99. There's a $60 discount on a MEGABLAST-POWER UP bundle as well.

Ultimate Ears BLAST and MEGABLAST review: Great sound comes at a price

Those in the market for a Bluetooth speaker in the $100-200 range will surely have heard of Ultimate Ears for the company's popular BOOM 2 and MEGABOOM speakers. But if you're looking for a newer, more premium alternative, Logitech/Ultimate Ears has come out with the BLAST and MEGABLAST - not replacements for the BOOM series, but upmarket stablemates.

The main talking points of these two new speakers concern Alexa integration and superior sound. The $229.99 BLAST and $299.99 MEGABLAST sound very good, and they can get seriously loud when cranked all the way up. The charging dock is a nice touch, but it costs an extra $40.

Ultimate Ears' $229.99 BLAST and $299.99 MEGABLAST bring WiFi, Alexa integration, and improved sound

Ultimate Ears' current BOOM line of Bluetooth speakers features some of the most beloved Bluetooth speakers on the market. But if you were holding off on buying a BOOM or MEGABOOM because they don't have Amazon Alexa integration or WiFi and you maybe want some better sound, UE has the solution for you: the new BLAST and MEGABLAST.
