[Update: Notification channels too] Android Q Beta 2 adds actionable WiFi and Bluetooth options to the main Settings screen

In the first Android Q Beta, a few cosmetic changes were made to the Settings app, but nothing of great consequence. Now that Beta 2 is upon us, some more meaningful changes have been included, with suggestions at the top of the Settings screen encouraging you to connect to a Wifi network and a card with information about connected Bluetooth devices.

Do Not Disturb mode is an increasingly vital part of the Android OS as far as I'm concerned. Advanced "digital wellbeing" features are all well and good, but the simplicity of being able to tell my phone to shut up for a little while is something I'm using more and more. It seems that every new version of Android alters how DND works — sometimes for the better, sometimes worse. Google has made significant changes to DND in each Developer Preview of Android P, and the latest beta makes further alterations and includes a new notification to warn you of certain differences.

Essential Phone Oreo Beta 2 now rolling out with more 8.0 features and bug fixes

The Essential Phone might not have been our favorite, but the company has been undeniably quick with updates. Essential first rolled out the Android Oreo 8.0 beta program for the PH-1 back in November, and now, a month later, the Beta 2 OTA is rolling out. According to the changelog, this latest build includes the December security patches, Oreo features like Smart text selection, instant apps, PiP mode, Google Play Protect, as well as performance improvements and bugfixes.
