Chromebooks have become a popular item in recent years thanks to their simplicity and affordability when compared to Windows PCs and MacBooks, and the cloud-based nature of the Chrome OS operating system lends itself well to the less tech-savvy users among us. But the best Chromebooks typically land in the 11-inch to 14-inch size bracket, and that's a little too small for people with less-than-perfect eyesight.

Time's running out to get $45 off on this premium 15-inch Chromebook this Cyber Monday

A premium touch display and 360-degree hinge make this a versatile and compelling laptop

Even before all the Cyber Monday discounts, the low cost and user-friendly nature of Chromebooks have made them more popular than ever. After all, it's not hard to find something that runs Chrome OS reasonably well. Of course, some Chromebooks are better than others, with the bargain-basement models often lacking when it comes to powerful features, high-quality screens, or just general fit and finish.

Asus announced three new Chromebooks back in January, including the ultra-premium CX9 that offers ridiculous specs for something running ChromeOS. Despite being listed on Asus' German website for a while, it's been strangely absent in the US. That finally changed this week as the CX9 is once again on the US Asus store and is available for pre-order.

The arrival of Cyber Monday brought along with it plenty of incredible deals on a barrage of Chromebooks, like the Asus Chromebook C423 for $179, HP Chromebook x360 2-in-1 for $249, and the recently released Asus Chromebook C433 for $370. In the spirit of keeping the deals rolling, we've uncovered another great offer, this time on one of our personal favorite Chromebooks from earlier this year. For today only, you can grab the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 for as low as 9 (9.99 off) on Amazon. In May, we called the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 a "worthy successor to the beloved C302," and a quick glance its spec sheet is more than enough reason to see why. Underneath a premium aluminum chassis and 14" 1080p display, the models in today's deal include Intel Core M3 processors, 4GB and 8GB memory options, 64GB of storage with microSD support, and a battery rated at 10 hours of use on a single charge. This Chromebook also includes plenty of ports, including two USB Type-C, one USB Type-A, and a headphone/microphone combo jack.

Asus offers a wide range of capable Chromebooks, and many of them are available for reduced prices this Black Friday. The deals start with the entry-level Chromebook C223, which is available for just $160 across multiple retailers, but you'll see the biggest savings when you get a Chromebook Flip C302 with an Intel Core m5 — it's going for only $450, which is $150 less than the usual price. The other deals hover around reductions of $50 to $100, with many Chromebooks seeing their lowest-ever prices. You can't go wrong with Asus' higher-end Chromebooks like the Flip C434 and C302 or the C425, which have received glowing reviews here at Android Police. If you don't particularly care for the touchscreen functionality of the Flip C434, I'd recommend the 8GB RAM version of the C425 at $320. Either way, all of the Chromebooks listed here will receive software support until at least June 2023, so you're on the safe side regarding security and longevity.

If you're on the hunt for a cheap Chromebook this Black Friday, you may want to jump on this deal. One of Asus' large 15-inch models, the C523, is now just $174.99 refurbished from Amazon-owned Woot. That's roughly $100 less than the new price. This is an entry-level Chromebook, with a low-power Intel Pentium N4200 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage, and a 15.6-inch 1080p screen. The CPU isn't anything special, but the 1080p screen is better than the display on just about every other Chromebook around this price range.

After months of mediocre low-end Chromebooks, Asus finally announced a successor to its wildly-popular Chromebook Flip C302 earlier this year. The C434 is an upgrade in almost every respect, and now you can finally buy it directly from Asus, anyway. The Chromebook Flip C434 has a 14-inch 1080p display, an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor (2 cores, 4 threads) clocked at 1.1GHz, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. For connectivity, you get two USB 3.0 Type-C ports, one USB 3.0 Type-A port, a microSD card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo jack.

Asus quietly unveiled its first 15-inch Chromebook last month, the C523. It's a lower-end Celeron model, and the original price of $270 was a bit too much for the hardware inside. It seems Asus has realized that, because the price has now dropped to $239.99 even though the laptop is still on pre-order.

There aren't many Chromebooks larger than 13 inches across, with the current leader being the Acer Chromebook 15. There will soon be at least one more option, because Asus just revealed its first 15-inch Chromebook — the C523.

Asus makes some of the best Chromebooks around, from the tiny C101PA to the more premium C302CA. Last month, the company announced a new 11.6-inch model with entry-level specifications - the C22NA. It's now on sale in the United States, for the low price of $229.99.If you haven't read our previous coverage, the C22NA is a traditional laptop (not a 2-in-1) with an Intel Celeron N3350 processor and 4GB RAM. The display also isn't anything special - just an 11.6-inch 1366x768 LCD panel. On the plus side, you do get two USB Type-C ports (along with one Type-A connector, a headphone/microphone jack, and a microSD card reader).Despite the low-end CPU and display, this doesn't seem like a bad product for $230, especially considering it's only 0.7 inches (1.8cm) thick. The ASUS Chromebook Flip lineup includes some of the best Chromebooks on the market, like the C101PA and C302. Some models are on sale right now, including the C302 m5 variant ($619), the C101PA ($269), and the C213SA ($319).

The C101 was to be ASUS' successor to the much-loved C100. Both are part of ASUS' so-called "Flip" series, which are convertible touchscreen Chromebooks. We've been looking forward to the release since it was teased back in May at Computex. And now it's finally available for pre-order at $299 via both Amazon and ASUS' store.

The original ASUS Chromebook Flip (C100PA) was released in 2015, and was one of the first Chromebooks to receive the Play Store. It's $250 MSRP made it a popular device, and ASUS has finally revealed a sequel at Computex 2017.
