And it's cheaper than the Steam version
Asmodee Digital is best known for bringing many board games to Android thanks to its penchant for creating worthwhile digital ports of physical games. Despite the fact that board games are now more popular than ever, it would seem Asmodee has already worked through its catalog of easily-recognizable titles, such as Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne. This means Scythe: Digital Edition might not have the same name recognition as its forebearers, but it's still a quality release that captures the physical version's asymmetric competitive play.
Terraforming Mars is a new strategy board game from Asmodee Digital, now available on the Play Store
Yesterday I covered Asmodee Digital's recent announcement that Terraforming Mars would be officially released on Android today. After a quick look at the Play Store this morning, the game is indeed available for purchase. You can pick it up today for $8.99, and this is a premium release, so there are no in-app purchases or advertisements included. Keep in mind, what you actually receive for $9 is the base board game, so the expansions that exist for the physical version are not included, which means the lack of IAPs may change in the future if these expansions ever make their way to the digital versions of the game.
Asmodee Digital published Luckyhammers' digital adaptation of FryxGames' physical board game Terraforming Mars on PC in October of 2018, but thanks to a rough launch the planned mobile release was apparently put on hold. Well, it would appear that Asmodee Digital finally feels confident enough to push out a mobile beta test, which means you can finally pick up the Android version of Terraforming Mars on the Google Play Store for $4.99.

Well, today I have a big one to announce. Asmodee Digital and Experiment 7 have released Catan VR on the Oculus store and you can grab the Gear VR version right now for $9.99.
Asmodee has been consistently sucking up a lot of properties in the board gaming world, and that has a few people worried since a single company owns so many great games. It most definitely has caused issues for smaller gaming shops that have trouble ordering their wares. But in the Android world, I have found little to be worried about as all of their digital translations have been fantastic. Not only are all of their games fairly monetized, but they also have a high level of polish that is difficult to match. Onitama is their latest game to be released on the Play Store, and it definitely holds to Asmodee's standards. Not only is it a well designed digital translation of an interesting strategy game, but it also happens to work great on touchscreens and is frankly a hoot to play.
Lo and behold Asmodee Digital has stayed true to their word and have released Carcassonne – Tiles & Tactics before the end of the year. Not only does this new version of Carcassonne deliver a worthwhile online multiplayer experience, but it's also cross-compatible with the Steam version that just so happens to have launched today as well. And if that wasn't enough to garner your interest you can also expect two unlockable expansions, all-new 3D graphics, and a solo mode for all of you Meeple lovers out there who want to brush up on your skills before diving into an online or local multiplayer match.
As was mentioned previously on AP, Asmodee Digital's Catan Stories: Legend of the Sea Robbers was set to release really soon on the Play Store. Well, it looks like today is the day as it is now available for purchase at the low price of $2.99. Unlike the majority of Asmodee Digital's Android games, this new release is not a board game adaptation but is more an interactive story set in the Catan game world that plays a lot like a choose your own adventure game.
