Anker Soundcore Motion X600 review: A portable Bluetooth boombox

Powerful, portable, affordable... and in boombox form!

While many fine Bluetooth speakers are out there, most are just for personal use. Or, at best, for providing background music for a small gathering. The Soundcore Motion X600 is in the minority of Bluetooth offerings insofar as it has the power to keep the music going for a pool party, backyard BBQ, or a gathering of a similar size.

These Anker true wireless buds are an excellent fit for my new Parisian life

Multiple noise cancellation and transparency settings are *chef kiss*

A few weeks ago, my husband and I packed up our entire lives in six suitcases and left Lebanon for a new beginning in France. Paris to be exact, or the outskirts of it to be more granularly precise. While the reasons for the move are more bitter than sweet, I've found myself adapting surprisingly well — and fast — to this new lifestyle. No car, more subways and walking, a ton of greenery, more rain, but also sunlight until 9 or 10pm, and more baguettes than I could ever dream of. But since we're a gadget site, I'll spare you the cheese and wine assortment and get straight to the main dish. Over the last few weeks, the Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro (what.a.mouthful) quickly became my take-everywhere gadget and has conquered the precious real estate in my tiny pockets.By any specific metric, the Air 2 Pro is not the best pair of earbuds or headphones I have brought with me to France:

Whether you're out trying to shave off that quarantine weight or at home cozying up with a good book, you probably want some headphones to fend off distractions and keep you in the zone — you need to concentrate and you need a solution at a decent price. Anker has an offering for you, with its Soundcore Spirit Pro Bluetooth earbuds at just $22 ($17 off) at Amazon. With IP68 water and dust resistance, you won't have to worry about sweat while you're out for your jog — or reading, I don't judge. You won't have to worry about dropping your buds down the couch, either, with included shirt and cable clips. Anker also promises 10 hours of playtime, so you should be set for the duration of your listening session. The earbuds also offer dual EQ modes and noise isolation, to help you drown out unwanted noise.

Sure, Bluetooth speakers have gotten much cheaper over the last couple of years, and shoppers have more choices than ever when deciding which one to buy. However, you'll find significantly fewer options once you start adding on features like water-resistance, NFC pairing, and a built-in power bank. If you'd like your next speaker to have any, or all, of these features, you'll want to check out the Anker Soundcore Boost. Right now, you can pick one up as part of Amazon's latest Deal of the Day for an all-time low of $44.99, saving yourself $15 in the process. When we reviewed the Soundcore Boost, we were impressed by its sleek, minimal design, bass-heavy audio that can handily fill room-sized areas with sound, and a 5200mAh battery that delivers 10-12 hours of playback and doubles as a USB power bank. Unfortunately, other aspects of the audio quality weren't quite as impressive, and we also noticed a fair amount of distortion at higher volume settings, but, at roughly half of the original price, these shortcomings are far more palatable.

Hey, are you listening to music right this second? Maybe a podcast? I bet you are. If you're looking to upgrade whatever it is you're listening on, you have a ton of options. Android Police tests all kinds of headphones and speakers, but those reviews are a whole lot of words to read. So here, as part of our Most Wanted series, is a digestible list of the audio gear we're really feeling in early 2020.

There are plenty of wireless headphones on the market today, but with mid-tier options quickly gaining ground on the premium market, you no longer have to blow out your wallet to get a fantastic audio experience. For instance, you can pick up these Hi-res-certified Anker Soundcore Life Q10 Bluetooth headphones for only .99 ( off) on Amazon. The Anker Soundcore Life Q10 are a pair of true wireless Bluetooth headphones that feature oversized 40mm dynamic drivers nestled within foam over-ear cups. Users can expect to get about 60 hours of playback on a single charge, and fast-charging via USB-C can provide up to five hours of power on a five-minute top-off. When not in use, the Anker Soundcore Life Q10 fold up to make them easier to carry and store.

Although we're now weeks beyond Black Friday, the holiday shopping season is still very much in full swing, and there are plenty of great deals to be had. To prove it, Anker has unleashed a swath of discounts on its Soundcore Bluetooth speakers, wireless headphones, and more for up to 45% off via Amazon. You'll have to act fast, though, because these deals are only available until the end of the day.For those in the market for Bluetooth speakers, the Anker Soundcore 2 and Soundcore Motion+ both include an IPX7 waterproof rating and extended playback on a single charge, making them great for outdoor adventures. The Soundcore Flare and Flare+ both feature 360-degree sound and ambient LEDs for a more immersive experience. Then there's the SoundCore Pro+ that boasts big bass packed into a portable design.

Black Friday is creeping up. Whether you're wading out into the sea of shoppers or staying cozy at home while you shop online, you might want something to drown out the noise while you browse deals. Anker has a Bluetooth offering from their sub-brand just for you: snag the Soundcore Spirit Pro for just $18 ($21 off) at Amazon with an on-page coupon.
