XGIMI MoGo review: Another great option for a portable Android TV projector

Until recently, most portable projectors either ran no software at all, relying on HDMI and USB for input, or offered a regular version of Android that wasn't suited for TVs or navigation with a remote. TiVo's big plan to become relevant again is... a $50 Android TV stick

TiVo's fallen a long way since the heady days of the early 2000s, when its DVRs were cutting-edge technology in the early era of digital TV. With its stock now trading for under a tenth of what it did at the company's height, TiVo's new CEO hopes to pin the company's future on... a $50 Android TV dongle. Given that a slew of such dongles are likely on the way (including Dish Network's AirTV Mini) and cheap Android TV boxes are already available, TiVo's play to stand out seems to be its own branded and customized version of the Android TV interface bundled with access to its DVR service.

Android TV 10 set to launch by the end of 2019

With Android 10 recently launching for Pixel phones and trickling down to third party OEMs, there are now signs that Android TV 10 may be right around the corner.

Android TV arguably isn’t highest on Google’s priority list. Look no further than I/O 2019, where Android TV wasn’t even mentioned, much less showcased on stage for all to see. That said, Google is clearly not done with their pitch to build a smarter home entertainment platform.

According to representatives at Google, Android TV 10 is currently on track to be released by the end of 2019. In addition to a major software update, developers will be receiving a bit of love in the shape of a new developer kit dubbed ADT-3.
