Chrome 88 brings better password protection and Incognito screenshots while sunsetting Flash (APK Download)

Another month, another Chrome release: Following the usual beta testing period, Google has just started rolling out version 88 of its browser, and there are quite a few improvements and significant changes on board. The release enhances some password protection features and paves the way for more web apps in the Play Store, but it also says goodbye to FTP connections and puts the final nail in the Flash Player's coffin.

No Leaks Necessary: Official Adobe Flash 10.2 Is Now In The Market

No Leaks Necessary: Official Adobe Flash 10.2 Is Now In The Market

One of the more criticized features of the Motorola XOOM was its lack of Flash at launch. It was promised to be updated within a few weeks, and today Adobe has held true to its promise. While XOOM owners have been playing with a leaked version for a week now, the official update to bring Android's Adobe Flash Player up to 10.2 is now in the Market. The new version brings Flash support for dual-core and Honeycomb-running devices. This is the first time the Motorola XOOM can officially utilize Flash.

This does have a different version number from last week's leak (the Market update carries the number 10.2.156.12, compared to last week's 10.2.155.67) so we would definitely recommend that XOOM-owners download the official release.

XOOM Owners Rejoice! Adobe Flash 10.2 Set To Launch In One Week, On March 18

Last night we told you about the update to the Motorola XOOM that has been rolling out which gives the tablet the promised capability to use Flash. Capability is the key word there, because XOOM owners still won't be able to experience Flash on their tabs until the final piece of the puzzle (Adobe's 10.2 Flash update) arrives. We now know when that will be, as Adobe has announced via their blog that it will be released next Friday, March 18.

As for the rest of us non-XOOM Android users, the update should also deliver some goodies, including enhanced performance for the Atrix 4G and LG Optimus 2X.

Verizon Confirms February 24th Release Date For Motorola XOOM; Adobe Flash Not Included Until Spring

Verizon Confirms February 24th Release Date For Motorola XOOM; Adobe Flash Not Included Until Spring

Verizon just updated its product page for the Motorola XOOM, and in the process, the tablet's release date has been made official. Just as expected, you'll be able to buy the Honeycomb-loaded beast this Thursday (2/24), but unfortunately, Adobe's Flash Player won't be included out of the box. Instead, the page's fine print says, the software is "expected in Spring 2011."

Engadget speculates that Verizon / Motorola are waiting for Flash 10.2, which is supposed to launch in the coming weeks, and I would say that's a pretty fair assumption. Still, it's kind of disappointing that the XOOM won't have Flash at launch since even the Galaxy Tab can play back Flash content.
