Perfect for your Galaxy S21... oh wait...

Now you can get SanDisk's 256GB A2 card for just $37.99, a savings of $4.92 over the usual price. This is an A2-rated card, meaning it's the best possible option for running applications from. However, even A-rated cards are significantly slower than the internal storage found in modern smartphones, so these cards are still best suited to storing photos, videos, and other non-application files.
One of 2020's best phone deals just got a spec bump. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, originally only available in a 128GB storage configuration, is getting a new 256GB model that offers twice as much space for just $70 more. Sales for this upgraded version open at midnight (ET) tonight. This is otherwise the phone you've come to expect, and potentially one of the best phones of 2020. You get the same Snapdragon 865 chipset, a slightly limiting 6GB of RAM, a 6.5" 120Hz 1080p AMOLED display, 4,500mAh battery, and all the other expected perks like an IP rating, in-screen fingerprint sensor, wireless charging, and Android 10-based OneUI (soon to be Android 11). And, of course, it's got that extra G everyone's excited for/up in arms about, though it's "missing" mmWave support —not that you should care. Lastly, Samsung's camera may tend to radioactive-looking results sometimes, but the combined value offered by the S20 FE is one of the year's best. It's worth pointing out that the "base" $700 128GB Galaxy S20 FE has microSD expandable storage, so this new model may not be necessary for many (if not most) people. Of course, built-in storage is faster (UFS 3.1) and easier for apps to access and use, but if you just need the space to hold less frequently-accessed stuff like bulk media, you may be better off spending a few bucks on a big card instead. If the extra storage was the tipping point in your own purchasing decision, you can pick one up starting at 12:01 AM (ET) tonight at Samsung's site. Prices range from $320/13.34 a month at maximum trade-in value to $770 when purchased outright. It will only be available in one color: Cloud Navy.Source: Samsung
There was a period of time when we thought the microSD slot was about to disappear from flagship smartphones, but luckily, it's made a comeback. PNY's 256GB Elite-X microSD card is currently just .99 from Amazon, making it a cheap way to add storage to your mobile devices. Other sizes are discounted as well. These Elite-X cards are U3-rated, meaning that the minimum sequential write speed is 30MB/s, compared with most other cards' U1 (10MB/s) base speed. If you intend to perform a lot of file transfers or film a lot of 4K video, this rating is pretty much a must. Like most other cards, the maximum read speed is 100MB/s.

Terabyte microSD cards, incredible though they are, are still wildly expensive. For us mere mortals, the next best thing — 512 gigabytes — is much more attainable. That's especially true today: you can snap up a 512-gig card for just 80 bucks from Amazon or B&H.If you're trying to decipher those hieroglyphics on the card's face, let me make things a little simpler: SanDisk's Ultra cards aren't as fast as its Extreme ones, but they're plenty quick enough for most tasks, with read speeds up to 100 megabytes per second and a minimum write speed of 10 megabytes per second.
Samsung is one of the best and most-respected names in the storage biz. It's probably among the most friendly companies to storage addicts; the Galaxy S10, for instance, is offered with 1TB of storage and a microSD slot. The company's U3-rated EVO Select 256GB microSD card is currently just , with the 128GB version available for .The EVO Select's U3 rating means that the minimum sequential write speed is 30MB/s, compared with most other cards' U1 (10MB/s) base speed. This is especially helpful if you intend to transfer a lot of files or record in 4K or higher framerates. These cards carry 10-year warranties, though you'll probably never need to use it.
If you've been looking to pick up a few microSD cards, today is the day of the week to do it: Amazon has opened up its Gold Box and is featuring sales on a few SanDisk microSD cards and a lot of savings to pass around, whether you need 200GB or 512GB.To start with, we've got the SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD card at UHS Speed Class 1 and an A1 rating. In raw numbers, it's advertised with a peak transfer speed of 100MB per second — it'll get you by if you're dealing with moving around, watching, or recording video at 1080p resolution. A year ago, this card would've still commanded more than $60. Nowadays, it's settled around $35 on Amazon. For today only, though, it's at .
External storage is always a great option if you're looking at expanding your phone's internal memory or transferring data from one device to another. It's also usually cheaper than buying a handset with greater onboard capacity, and more convenient as you can keep it when switching phones. If you're looking at a new microSD card, PNY's well-rated high-speed products just hit an all-time low on Amazon, with some models costing 47% less than their MSRP.All cards are water-, shock-, and X-ray proof, come with a built-in SD adapter, and feature Class 10 and U3 ratings, allowing them to be particularly performant. The 32GB and 64GB models can go as fast as 90MB/s, while the 128GB and 256GB cards offer read speeds of up to 100MB/s. The last two are also compatible with V30 and A1 standards, which respectively let you load and run apps faster, and enjoy high picture rates for 4K video recording.
Prices of microSD cards have been dropping quite a bit lately, but this pre-Black Friday deal is among the most enticing yet. Amazon has dropped the price of its U3-level Samsung EVO Select microSD cards in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB flavors to all-time low prices. We saw the 128GB version of this card drop to an already-low $25 early last month, but prices have fallen even further. In fact, a quick look at CamelCamelCamel reveals that these prices are the lowest that Amazon has ever seen. Plus, they're actually good cards; the U3 rating means that the minimum sequential writing speed is 30MB/s, which is significantly better than most cards' 10MB/s minimums. The 64GB card is .99, the 128GB is .99, and the 256GB is .99. If you've been in need of some extra storage, these EVO Select cards should definitely be considered. You can pick one up via the source links below.Source: Amazon (64GB), (128GB), (256GB)
[Deal Alert] 256GB Samsung EVO Select microSD down to $85 ($35 off), 128GB to $34 ($8 off) at Amazon
Storage is always getting cheaper and cheaper. The first 256GB microSD, which was made available by Samsung, cost a whopping $249.99 when it debuted in 2016. Similarly, the first 128GB microSD card, which came from SanDisk, entered the market back in 2014 at a price of $199.99. Amazon is now offering 256GB and 128GB versions of the EVO Select microSD card for just .99 and .99, respectively.Samsung's EVO Select cards (rebranded versions of the EVO Plus for Amazon) are U3-rated, which means that they have a minimum sequential writing speed of 30MB/s. They're also rated for maximum speeds of 100MB/s for reading and 90MB/s for writing. The standard and far more ubiquitous U1 rating of 10MB/s is a lot slower than that, so if you do a lot of data transfer, this is definitely a big step up.The .99 price for the 256GB EVO Select and the .99 number for the 128GB card are both all-time lows. Of course, they both come with their own SD adapters. Prime shipping is free, and depending on where you live, it could even be same-day shipping. Yesterday was Prime Day, and there were a ton of deals on basically any tech product that you could think of (including microSD cards). But if you were looking for something with quicker transfer speeds, Samsung's line of EVO Select cards is being discounted right now, with the star of the show being a 256GB unit for .99.These EVO Select cards are U3-rated, meaning that they have a minimum sequential writing speed of 30MB/s. That's a lot higher than the standard U1 speed of 10MB/s, so if you do a lot of data transfer, this is definitely a better buy than inferior cards. It's rated for maximum speeds of 100MB/s for reading and 90MB/s for writing. This is a solid card. The 256GB model is definitely the highlight here, as it's dropped to an all-time low of $89.99. However, other sizes are discounted as well; the 128GB is .99 (another all-time low), and the 64GB is .99. We're not sure how long these prices will last, so don't wait up.Source: Amazon

Samsung announced today that customers in the US will soon be able to purchase its Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones with more storage. Variants of the phones with both 128 and 256 gigabytes of internal storage will be available to pre-order beginning tomorrow, May 1, and will be on sale May 18.
Phones these days are getting increasing amounts of internal storage as standard, but it's always nice to have more space. SanDisk's 256GB Ultra USB Type-C/USB-A dual drive has dropped to just .99, a far cry from the ~$95 it started at. If you need some extra local storage and/or you need to transfer files between your computer and your phone often, this is worth your consideration. The Amazon description is oddly short, only listing computer compatibility, but it doesn't need much description. Push the side-mounted slider one way, and a USB-C connector will emerge for use with any of your USB-C devices (phones, MacBooks, etc). Push it the other way, and a USB-A connector will come out. There are some complaints about slow write speeds, but the drive still has a 4.1/5-star rating overall. Read speeds are fast, though.$64.99 is the lowest price we've seen for this drive; it's been averaging at around $76 for the past few months. Shipping is free. Default internal storage has risen in the past few years from 16GB to 64GB for flagship smartphones today, but if you shoot lots of video, that space can still get taken up pretty quickly. For those situations, you'll need a microSD card, and SanDisk's 256GB A1-rated Ultra will do that job perfectly. It's currently just $123.99, $26 off its MSRP, on Amazon. This 256GB Ultra is virtually the best card you can put in your phone in terms of both storage and speed, with Class 10, UHS-1, and A1 ratings. That A1 rating means that you'll be able to load apps off of it with relative ease, which may be handy depending on what you use your card for. SanDisk claims transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s, which is very impressive.$123.99 is the lowest we've seen this microSD card go for. It's even cheaper than this inferior, non-A1 spec 256GB SanDisk Ultra card at the moment. But if you want one, you'll have to wait a little while; Amazon is claiming a 1-4 week wait time. Hit the source link below to purchase one and begin the waiting game.Source: Amazon
You know what's better than a deal? A triple deal. Amazon's Gold Box offers for today are all about SanDisk memory and in there are three nice deals for those of us with Android phones.First is the Ultra 256GB MicroSDXC UHS-I card with adapter. While this isn't the new fancy U3 card, it's still plenty fast with transfer speeds up to 95MB/s. Last we saw it, it was down from $200 to $135 on Amazon, but it had once reached $120 at B&H in limited quantities. Now it's back again at that same price of $119.99 on Amazon, which is its cheapest at the retailer according to CamelCamelCamel.Second is the Ultra 128GB MicroSDXC UHS-I card, also with adapter. This one is a lot cheaper than the 256GB, at nearly a quarter of the price, giving it one of the best price-per-value ratios for MicroSD storage in SanDisk's lineup. It's down to $32.99, which isn't its absolute cheapest price ever (that was $29.99 last Thanksgiving, says CamelCamelCamel), but it's still a nice discount from its current price of $42.95.And finally, there's the 128GB dual USB and USB-C drive, which can be very useful for transferring media and data from your computer to your phone, or between phones. It usually goes for about $59.99, but it was down to around last Thanksgiving. Now, however, it has dropped a little further to $38.89. That's the lowest it has ever reached, and a lot of removable storage for a decent price. If you're interested, the Gold Box deals last today only (19 hours remaining as of the time of writing) and shipping is free for Prime members. All the links are below along with the general Amazon Gold Box page if you want to see the other SanDisk deals for today.Source: Amazon Gold Box, SanDisk 256GB MicroSD, 128GB MicroSD, 128GB Dual USB-C/A drive
The mighty microSD card gets better and better as time goes along. Even though my daily driver phones have not supported the tiny storage medium in some time, I still get excited about deals like the one we have here. B&H has the SanDisk 256GB Ultra on sale for $119.95, a savings of $60.
It's funny - just a few years ago, everyone was worrying about the demise of microSD card slots because of the growing popularity of cloud storage, but now, virtually every smartphone, flagship or otherwise, is capable of taking microSD cards (iPhone and Pixel excluded, of course). To take full advantage of your phone's microSD slot, why not stick a 256GB card, the highest capacity widely available, in there? Now, Massdrop is offering 256GB Samsung EVO+ microSD cards up for just $129.99.The EVO+ is one of the best cards you can get; in fact, it's actually the same card that Samsung gave away with the Galaxy Note7 (RIP). Samsung estimates read speeds at 95MB/s and write speeds at 90MB/s, so it's definitely quick enough for 1080p or even 4K video. And with 256GB, you can fill it up with hundreds of movies, thousands of songs, etc. You get the point; it's a crapload of storage. Massdrop is also including an SD adapter for use with your computers and cameras. The $129.99 price that Massdrop is offering is the lowest we've ever seen by at least $20. Currently, this card is going for 9.99 on Amazon, and that's via a third-party seller. If you're interested, you'd better be quick; the drop is limited to 750 units, and 213 have already been purchased as of this article's writing. It's also worth noting that the estimated ship date is December 6th, so you'll have to wait a few weeks to receive it. However, if you've been on the lookout for some high-quality storage on the cheap, the wait may be worth it.Source: Massdrop
64GB? Kid's stuff. 128GB? Paltry. Real smartphone spec-hounds will settle for nothing less than 256GB of local onboard storage (which, incidentally, is more than many laptops these days). At least they'd settle for nothing less if any of those phones were actually available. There will be one soon, in at least one location: the ASUS Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition. It's coming to Brazil sometime in the future for an unspecified price, though "quite a lot" would be a safe bet. The model was shown off on the official ASUS Brazil blog.
