Not too long ago, it looked like Google completely lost interest in its aptly named fitness tracking app Fit. But the company proved its renewed commitment with a full relaunch back in 2018, bringing Fit's design language in line with its other applications. Some features got lost during the transition, but Google has since worked hard to bring those back, along with including new capabilities and options. And these efforts seem to have paid off. Fit is celebrating the 100-million-downloads milestone on the Play Store just about two years after reaching 50 million.

Any time an application hits 100 million installs on the Play Store, it's worth taking note. From podcast players to streaming services, it's a sign that an app has truly cemented its legacy on Android. It's not often that three apps reach this milestone all at once, but that's exactly what has happened today. PlayStation, myAT&T, and Moto Photo Editor have all earned their respective places in the Play Store hall of fame.

Some of us are old enough to remember that Google Assistant first showed up in Allo before launching exclusively on the first-gen Pixels in October 2016. You may also recall that after spreading to more devices, Assistant got its very own "app" on the Play Store in October 2017. Similarly to the Google Podcasts app, it's just a shortcut to the Assistant, the functionality of which remains part of the main Google app. Given the non-essential nature of the app, you'll forgive us for being surprised to see it reach 100 million installs on the Play Store.

- Another Go app has hit the 100 million install mark: Google Maps Go. It too can be installed on non-Go phones, but it's very limited in functionality compared to the main Maps app as it doesn't provide any navigation (which comes from a separate app). The odds of people using it instead of the main Maps app may thus be lower, which further corroborates the claim that Android Go phones have probably seen some decent sales.
We've only reported Google Go's 10 million download numbers last September, and today, the app has reached another milestone: it now boasts 100 million installs on the Play Store. Since it's pre-installed on all Android Go phones, this might indicate that Android Go is quite a successful endeavor for Google, as this would suggest that the amount of newly activated Go devices skyrocketed over the past half year.
