Samsung introduced its revamped One UI interface in November. The company claims the new design is more intuitive and requires less finger movement on large screens. In addition, it brings a dark mode for stock apps and system elements, which looks sleek and saves battery on OLED displays.

Samsung has stuck with wearables over the years, starting with its own Android-based Gear watches, then moving to Android Wear, then finally to a Tizen-based wearable platform. This has given Samsung the freedom to pursue a number of form factors like the "Fit" smart bands. The third iteration of Samsung's Fit device has been leaked, which is confusingly named "Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro." It packs improved water-resistance, offline Spotify, and a few other enhancements for athletic types.

Samsung's Gear Fit 2 is due to launch on June 10, and right on cue, Amazon and other retailers have the wearable up for pre-order, priced at $179.99 and available in three different colors - black, blue, and pink. Samsung previously announced the sequel to the original Gear Fit on June 3, alongside the wireless Gear IconX Earbuds. The Gear Fit 2 uses a curved 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display for showing fitness information, such as step count or heart rate. It also allows checking and responding to text message notifications, and a GPS sensor is built in, as you might expect with a high-end fitness wearable.Without further ado, here's a list of retailers listing the Gear Fit 2:

Samsung's Gear Fit, the smaller, sleeker alternative to the company's other smartwatches, is probably the most interesting of the second generation Gears. If you've been coveting one, now would be the time to buy it: Amazon has it for just .99. That's a full 50% off the $200 retail price, and notably below alternatives like the Pebble smartwatch and the new Android Gear watches. As usual, Amazon Prime users in the United States can add free two-day shipping to the deal.

Samsung is sending an update out to all the owners of its new wearables in the US. Surely there are some of them, right? So yes, that Gear 2, Gear2 Neo, or Gear Fit on your wrist is about to get slightly better. I mean, it's still a Gear, but you know.

The Gear Fit has its share of problems, but it's still easily the best of Samsung's wearable watch-style devices so far. And one of the best reasons for picking one up over the larger and technically more capable Gear 2 models is the lower price. Now Amazon has given Samsung smartphone owners even more reason to lay their money down: a considerable discount on the Gear Fit.

Smartphones are probably some of the most personal devices on the planet. They hold our contacts. Our family photos. Our, um, personal photos. Text messages. Private conversations. Many of a person's secrets could probably be uncovered with a little exploration of their smartphone. So, what's the best way to keep things safe on your smartphone? With a little security, of course.

Samsung Gear Fit Review: Well, It Looks Nice

A review for the Samsung Gear Fit.

Last year, I reviewed the original Galaxy Gear. Considering how that went, I'm not sure I am exactly the "ideal" candidate for reviewing the new-and-improved Gear Fit, but hey, it came with the Galaxy S5 I reviewed, so here goes nothing.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 in 125 countries yesterday, and launching alongside it were also the company's new trio of smartwatches - Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit.

We've all known the details surrounding the latest version of Samsung's flagship phone for several weeks, but now's the time to start getting our grubby fingers on one. Today Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S5 in 125 countries across the globe, including areas in the US, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.

Last week an unlocked Galaxy S5 hit eBay as a Daily Deal for the price of $699.99. That wasn't cheap, but the seller was apparently shipping the phone out within a day. Now the phone has already dropped a full $70 in price. It's currently [ebay id="201069620609" text="going for $629.99"] as part of another eBay Daily Deal.

If you didn't get enough coverage of Samsung's new devices from our own Mobile World Congress posts, Sammy has posted its own official hands-on videos for the three new gadgets introduced at the show. The Samsung YouTube page now has in-depth videos for the Galaxy S5 and the Gear 2 and Gear Fit. They're pretty exhaustive: the phone video clocks in at just under eight minutes and the watch video is over nine minutes.

We're still a bit more than a month out from Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Gear smart watches, but Samsung is looking to keep the hype train going with its new intro videos. You know the drill – it's super-pretty, everything works perfectly, and there's calming music in the background.

The smartwatch craze has gotten a little out of hand, if you'll pardon the pun. Various manufacturers and innumerable crowdfunding campaigns seem ready to leap into the shallow waters already populated by Pebble, Sony, Fitbit and the like. Just because Samsung's Galaxy Gear is the most mainstream of these wearable devices doesn't mean it's the best - on the contrary, in addition to general dissatisfaction with the somewhat rushed hardware, many reviewers found themselves questioning the need for a relatively powerful and feature-filled device on their wrist. After all, there's already one in your pocket.

Because one two wearables weren't enough, Samsung had to go and announce a third. This one is a little bit different from the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, however – it's called the Gear Fit, and it's basically a fitness tracker with a twist... or rather a curve.
