Having Touchscreen Problems With Your LG G4? LG Knows, And They're Looking Into It

A growing thread on XDA has seen over 100 LG G4 owners claim that their devices are experiencing a rather troubling touchscreen problem with varying severity. Essentially, the touchscreen is regularly "missing" touch inputs particularly around the edges of the screen, causing swipes and other inputs to go unregistered. The problem is being compared to UI "lock-ups" where input goes unresponsive for short periods of time, though it may be more nuanced than that.

So far, Verizon and T-Mobile models seem most affected, though there have been reports of the issue by several AT&T users and at least one person on Sprint.

LG showed off the G4 at the end of April, we posted our review a couple weeks later, and we've spent the time since then waiting for the time when folks here in the US can pick the phone up from their network of choice. Availability and pre-orders have trickled out gradually, and now we've reached a point where the phone should be on sale across all five of the country's largest carriers.

Sad as it may be, if you've been hearing that the G4 has wireless charging right out of its shiny new box, unfortunately that just isn't true. LG went on the record with us to state that no version of the G4 will be shipping with wireless charging as a standard feature, and that you'll need to buy one of the company's Quick Circle covers if you want to get your battery those sweet, sweet electrons via induction. LG G4 Review: Perhaps The Most Practically Appealing Of 2015's Flagship Phones

LG has developed something of a cult following in the smartphone enthusiast world since it introduced the G2 back in 2013. With the G3, it became the first major smartphone OEM to bring a QHD (2.5K) display, among the first to use the Snapdragon 801 processor, introduced a great camera with OIS, and generally built a fast, bleeding-edge phone.

The G4 could be seen as a largely corrective measure - mostly existing to improve on its predecessor's pitfalls. The G3's display was criticized as dull and lacking much in the way of brightness. The G4's has much better contrast, improved viewing angles, output, and uses less power.
