Aukey Power Bank 26800mAh review: A big battery that can quickly charge everything

Apollo Max review: Graphene is finally more than science fiction, but don't buy this portable charger

Graphene has been dangled in front of us for over a decade as a new, magical material capable of solving all our technical problems, while steadfastly staying out of consumer products. It's a materials science fact with the mythos of science fiction, but it's finally percolating down into stuff you can actually buy, like this portable charger/battery. Made by a Chinese company called Elecjet, the Apollo Max promises 37Wh (10,000mAh) of capacity, 100W charging, 60W discharging, and a 19 minute recharge time. Unfortunately, that last claim is just science fiction.

Jackery Supercharge 26800 PD is the mid-range gold standard for a portable charger, but it's a bit expensive

We've covered some impressive batteries here at Android Police, but most folks probably aren't shopping around for a 100W of output or lunchbox-sized chargers. Overkill like that isn't necessary to top up a phone, laptop, or even your Nintendo Switch on the go, and Jackery's Supercharge 26800 PD bundle provides both a portable and a wall charger that each spit 45W over USB-C and work as advertised without any hiccups or odd behavior — a minor miracle these days. The only real downside is the $120 asking price, but with our coupon, it's a bit more palatable.

Review: The Omnicharge 20+ is a highly versatile portable battery, but it's too complicated for most

Among on-the-go professionals, there's a sort of holy grail when it comes to power accessories: a single portable charger that can power everything. The transition to USB Type-C has helped approach that ideal, but there are still things it isn't perfect for, and batteries like the 71Wh Omnicharge Omni 20+ will always have a special place. It can charge devices off of USB Type-A, Type-C, 120/230V AC, Qi wireless charging, and even a barrel DC port, but that flexibility means it also has a special price: $200. And with all the features and output types it crams in, we think this battery may be a bit too complicated for most consumers.

Anker Powerhouse 200 review: A $350 USB-C battery pack the size of a lunchbox

There are an incredible number of choices when it comes to smaller capacity batteries, but the selection of big, camping-sized units thins out substantially especially if you want comparatively modern amenities like Type-C charging and output. Anker's new Powerhouse 200 fills a slightly smaller niche than its older Powerhouse 120,000, together with the addition of a more modern connector, but its $350 asking price is too much given the compatibility issues and feature set.

Zendure's SuperTank may be ugly, but it's the best and most powerful Type-C battery you can buy

Batteries, by design, shouldn't be an exciting subject. When we're talking about the brick you connect to a thousand-dollar smartphone which holds tremendous quantities of literally explosive chemical power, "exciting" isn't usually a word you want to hear. So I won't call Zendure's new SuperTank battery exciting, even though it can spit a massive 100W of power over USB Type-C, with almost perfect device compatibility, exceptional performance, and all at a very reasonable price.

This is the best battery we've ever reviewed at Android Police — and if I'm being honest, that's a little bit exciting.

RAVPower 20,100mAh USB-C 45W power bank review: It has issues

There are a ton of cheap batteries out there to choose from, so when we do reviews for them here at Android Police, we tend to be pretty picky. USB-C is a must-have from our mobile-first perspective, and anything less than 30W of output is a bit of a snooze. Mophie Powerstation USB-C 3XL: Lots of power for lots of money, but device compatibility is a deal-breaker

It's weird to think that there's a high-end power accessory market, but there is. Mophie pretty much dominates it with just a few special characteristics: a slightly more premium build quality, better materials, and high-end specs. Of course, Mophie's products also typically come with a sky-high price tag, and that's the case here with the Powerstation USB-C 3 XL. You get 45W of power on both USB-C input and output (with pass-through and different ports for each, too), a voluminous 26,000mAh capacity, and an exorbitant $200 MSRP to go with it. Unfortunately, it refused to work with any Chromebook I tested it with.
