There was a time when even Samsung flagships had to wait for months to get the latest Android updates, but not anymore. In the last few months, Samsung has consistently delivered monthly security updates to pretty much its entire line-up, at times even trumping the Pixel phones. With October just upon us, Samsung is already releasing this month’s security patches to its devices, beginning with the mid-tier Galaxy A50.
Today, Google officially announced the extremely leaked Pixel 5. It's a lovely device with a very cool green colorway option, and as an unrepentant Google hardware fan, I'm struggling against the urge to buy it. Honestly, there's only one thing stopping me: the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, launching early next month, is the exact same price at $699. And on paper, it's a much better value.
Last December, Google released its first feature drop for Pixel devices, kicking off a routine of bringing new capabilities to the phones each quarter. Included in the first drop was something called auto-framing for Google Duo. With auto-framing enabled, you can walk further away from your device, and Duo will zoom in to keep you focused and even follow you around the room so long as you stay within the shot. This feature had always been exclusive to Pixel 4, but it's now available on Samsung's Galaxy S20 range.
We're all looking for ways to stay active right now — sometimes you just need a little push. A fitness tracker is a great way to remind yourself to get up and moving; a solid, affordable one is even better. Right now, Best Buy is offering the Samsung Galaxy Fit for a crazily low $50 (half off).
Galaxy phone owners have access to a whole bunch of customization options through Samsung’s Good Lock app. This month alone, the app got two major modules in the form of Pentastic and Wonderland, for tweaking the S Pen and device wallpapers, respectively. Now, Good Lock is all set to add a few new capabilities to improve your typing experience, better manage who gets priority on the share screen, and how apps respond to device rotation.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra is a great phone, but the $1,300 asking price is tough to swallow. So, it's lucky, then, that the phone's physical design is screaming for a case with that massive camera module sticking out of the back. You don't want to trust just any old case to protect your $1,300 phone. We've tested many, many Note20 Ultra cases, and here are the best.
Most budget and mid-range phones don't usually have the most impressive camera setups, but Samsung is looking to change that — at least in the Indian market. 91mobiles is reporting that the Korean tech giant is set to launch a camera-centric Galaxy F series of phones very soon.
Samsung may have turned things around when it comes to updating its phones, but sadly Samsung's tablets were left behind until more recently. Painfully late, Samsung started updating the Tab S6 last month, and now the Tab S4 and S5e are receiving the same treatment.
Samsung's Galaxy A series is one of its best-selling, thanks in part to the "flagship feel" without the flagship price. The A71 is incredibly popular, bearing a close resemblance to the S20 series and its impressive spec sheet. It seems as though its successor, the A72, will have even more to offer thanks to a penta-camera setup, making it the first Samsung smartphone to boast that many rear sensors.
