Some Galaxy S10s updated with call/message continuity feature for Tab S5e

People kill for message continuity on their smartphones. After all, iMessage is a major reason why iPhones are so popular. Google released its own version of continuity for its Messages app last year with a web interface, and now some Galaxy S10 models are getting Samsung's version, which it creatively calls "Call & Message Continuity." However, it seems to only work with the Galaxy Tab S5e tablet right now.

The 5 best and worst things about the Samsung Galaxy S10

Samsung has historically been a known quantity in the Android world: great hardware, good cameras, software you put up with. And while the Galaxy S10 family is largely what you've come to expect, there are highs and lows here that aren't necessarily in keeping with Samsung tradition. You can see our full reviews of the Galaxy S10+ and S10e for more in-depth analysis, but here are our five favorite and five least favorite things about the S10 line in a nutshell.

Samsung releasing Galaxy S10/S10+ patch to improve fingerprint scanner performance

The Galaxy S10 is an excellent phone, but it's not without its faults. In fact, one of the headlining features isn't so good. Samsung's ultrasonic in-display sensor is often slow and inaccurate, and it's attempting to address that with a new firmware patch rolling out to devices. It's unclear if the sensor is actually any better, but at least Samsung is trying.

Samsung is screwing up many Galaxy S10 trade-ins, leaving customers frustrated

It's not uncommon for smartphone manufacturers to offer some sort of trade-in incentive for the brand-new model. Samsung's been doing it for several iterations now, as have Google and Apple. However, there seems to be an inherent logistical problem with these types of programs. There are always some trade-ins that are deemed ineligible, when, in actuality, they're perfectly compliant. That's what's happening to a bunch of Galaxy S10 buyers who took Samsung up on their trade-in deals.

If this story sounds familiar, it might be because we ran a similar one back in 2017 concerning the S8's trade-in program. It's unfortunate to see that Samsung and the third-parties that it works with haven't really changed their processes through the years, leading to countless customers being swindled out of the discounts they were promised.

2011's problems, today: Reports say Galaxy S10 5G can't reacquire 5G signal without rebooting

It looks like the roll-out of 5G phones is hitting consumers much like the early days of 4G did, at least in South Korea. Galaxy S10 5G owners have complained to Samsung about connection troubles when their devices attempt to switch between 5G and 4G radios.

[Update: New renders support date] Verizon to purportedly start Galaxy S10 5G sales on May 16

In two days, smartphone fans in Korea will spend up to roughly $1,400 to purchase the Galaxy S10 5G. Samsung's 5G flagship will be the first meaningful push for 5G phones in many countries, but the only thing we knew about its path to the United States was that it would first come to Verizon sometime before summer. That was until leaks blogger Evan Blass tweeted out a cryptic message today.

Anyone could unlock your Galaxy S10... if they can 3D-print your fingerprints

Most of us store almost our entire lives on our phones, and for that reason we want them to be secure. There are many ways to protect our data, including mere unlock patterns, passwords, and of course biometrics. While many trust the latter to be particularly safe, they can still be fooled. Indeed, we already know the S10's face unlock isn't particularly trustworthy, we thought its in-display fingerprint scanner to be foolproof, thanks to its ability to sense blood flow. However, a recent experiment proved the phone can be unlocked using 3D printed fingerprints, just like other handsets mistook fake heads for actual ones.

International Dual-SIM Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ are as low as $600

The Galaxy S10 was unveiled a month and a half ago, and we think it's one of the best phones on the market today. One of its drawbacks, though, is its price, which can reach $1,600 for the larger model. Thankfully, there are ways to pay less for Samsung's latest flagship, without having to buy a used or refurbished device. One option is to buy the international version on eBay, which lets you save about 20% on the S10e, S10, and S10+.

How to add a notification light to the Galaxy S10 and S10+ (sort of)

While Ambient Display and other features have diminished the need for a notification LED on phones, some people are very upset about the S10's removal of the notification light. If you're one of those people, a new app called 'Holey Light' might be a solution.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G goes on sale April 5 in Korea, comes to US in June

The 5G variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is a beast of a phone. It kind of has to be to fit in those hefty new 5G radios, but it's also got a humungous 6.7" display and a 4,500mAh battery. The 5G network has been live in South Korea since late last year, and now Samsung is ready to launch its first 5G device.
