Earlier this month Boost Mobile announced the Samsung Galaxy Prevail, the first decent Android handset to land on the Sprint prepaid subsidiary. It's slated to be released just two days from now, and keeping up with its seemingly new demeanor, Samsung has already released the Froyo kernel source code over at the Open Source Developers Center.

No one ever accused Boost Mobile of overachieving on the Android phone front, and the carrier's latest announcement doesn't really do much to change that. It has been rumored that Samsung and Boost Mobile will announce the Android 2.2 Galaxy Prevail at tonight's event in New York City, and that has been all but verified now. A Galaxy Prevail teaser is live on Boost's website, accompanied by a "sold online soon" badge and a cool $180 price tag, which seems like a pretty good deal for a no-contract phone.
