Samsung is usually one of the better OEMs when it comes to releasing timely security patches for its phones, even beating Google to the punch at times. But even Samsung can only afford to keep older devices updated for so long. The company has recently revised its security update list with some changes, including ending patches for the Galaxy S7 Active, as well as changing some other older devices to a less frequent schedule.

Samsung's Android 9 Pie rollout has been rather swift. After beta testing it along with its new One UI on the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note9, it began rolling it out to users of the first two models late in December. Back then, the company also released a Pie update roadmap with the months it expected to push the OTA for its remaining devices. Now, an updated roadmap has been spotted by SamMobile, pointing to quicker release dates for the Note9 and Note8.

On the Samsung totem pole, the Galaxy A series sits right below the flagship S series, striking a balance between eye-catching design, great features, and mid to high-end specs. The latest device(s) to come from it are the new Galaxy A6 and A6+, which bring a sleek build with metal instead of glass and visible yet well-designed antenna lines.

Samsung's Galaxy A6 and A6+ haven't been launched yet, but Samsung Indonesia has just pushed out a ton of details for the two phones ahead of a proper announcement. The new Galaxy A6 and A6+ feature 18.5:9 AMOLED "Infinity" displays, fingerprint sensors, unnamed 8-core SoCs, and front-facing camera flash. The bigger A6+ even has a dual-camera setup for parallax-based bokeh, and both cameras sport 16MP f/1.7 primary shooters. Prices and dates for availability are still unknown, though.
