What we know about the Galaxy Fit 3, Samsung's upcoming fitness wearable
With lots of leaks in rapid succession, it seems like the Galaxy Fit 3 is coming very soon
We think a lot about upcoming wearables at AP: we're keeping a close watch on developments around flagship watches like the Galaxy Watch 7 and Pixel Watch 3, both of which we expect to be released sometime this year.
Samsung's Galaxy Fit 3 specs leak has us even more hyped
The wearable will have an aluminum body and 1.6-inch sAMOLED display
Although not much has been officially announced by Samsung about the Galaxy Fit 3, there is reason to believe that it could hit store shelves soon. It’s been a while since the launch of the Galaxy Fit 2 — going on four years now — and there have been rumors circulating about what Samsung may do to top its previous wearable. Now, it seems that its specs can be confirmed by a new leak, and it's one of many to have occurred in recent days.
The Galaxy Fit 3 is almost here, and it looks remarkably like the Apple Watch
At what point is a fitness tracker just a smartwatch?
It's taken Samsung a few years and a few experiments to fall into its wearable stride. There's the standard Galaxy Watch, a beefier Galaxy Watch Classic or Pro alongside it, and then occasional appearances from semi-regular models like the Galaxy Watch Active and the Galaxy Fit. After all, there hasn't been a new generation of the wearable for almost four years.

We're all looking for ways to stay active right now — sometimes you just need a little push. A fitness tracker is a great way to remind yourself to get up and moving; a solid, affordable one is even better. Right now, Best Buy is offering the Samsung Galaxy Fit for a crazily low (half off).
Samsung announced the Galaxy Fit as its direct Fitbit Inspire HR competitor this summer, and it's already on sale less than half a year later. You can get the wearable at most of the usual merchants for $80, which is $20 less than what you had to pay for it at launch. The Galaxy Fit comes with automatic workout tracking that kicks in when you start moving. It constantly monitors your heart rate and warns you when it's abnormally high or low. Samsung touts the Fit has a battery life of up to a week, which it probably achieves in part thanks to its AMOLED screen (though it's unclear if that remains true when you turn on the always-on mode). Apart from fitness features, the Fit also shows you your notifications and offers quick preset replies. The device is compatible with Android and iOS, but as you could suspect, Samsung says it works best with Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung introduced its revamped One UI interface in November. The company claims the new design is more intuitive and requires less finger movement on large screens. In addition, it brings a dark mode for stock apps and system elements, which looks sleek and saves battery on OLED displays.
Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event is fast approaching and we know the event will primarily focus on its flagship S10 series of phones. According to previous leaks and rumors, it's also likely that we'll see some new wearable devices on February 20, something Samsung has all but confirmed with an accidental leak.
Samsung is well-known for its ubiquity in the feature-phone market, and it's starting to look like they'll be employing the same assault-on-all-sides approach with Android phones too. As if they aren't struggling already to keep their phones up to date, Sammy is now digging a deeper hole with today's announcement of four budget-oriented devices set to prop up the rather premium Galaxy S.
