Word from a "trusted source" at BGR is that Samsung is set to unveil a new tablet at MWC packing an 11.6" screen at 2560x1600. That's nearly twice as many pixels as 1080p in a dinky 11.6" package; thanks to a thinner bezel, said package is only slightly larger than the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Unsurprisingly, other specs are bumped up a notch as well, with the tablet reportedly equipped with a 2GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 CPU. Read More

Owners of the LG G-Slate have been waiting a long time to get some custom ROM action on the 8.9-inch device, and now that dream may finally become a reality thanks to a quick hack that unlocks the bootloader. Big Red just took the wraps off of two new Motorola tablets that we've been hearing about for a while now: the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and 8.2. Both tablets are running nearly identical specs, save for screen size:
- 10.1-inch and 8.2-inch IPS display with Gorilla Glass
- 1.2GHz dual-core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 5MP rear shooter, 1.3MP front camera
- 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB available for XYBOARD 10.1; 16GB and 32GB options available for XYBOARD 8.2
- Android 3.2 - will be upgraded to Android 4.0
- Verizon 4G LTE
Each tablet was built to address a specific market - the XYBOARD 10.1 is made for productivity and the use of a "precision tip stylus," which is included in the box, while the XYBOARD 8.2 was designed with multimedia in mind and sports 2.1 virtual surround sound and a "high-definition display."
Both tablets also come business-ready, as they come bundled with office-centric software such as Quickoffice HD and Citrix GoToMeeting. Read More

In addition to browsing and buying stuff, the app also features a barcode scanner that gives students a chance to compare prices on anything they intend to buy from a brick and mortar store. The scanner also allows students to scan their old textbooks, games, DVDs, and a million other eligible products to see their current trade-in value. Read More
Apparently the demand for a hardware buttoned, Gingerbread packing, 7 inch tablet (with optional pen input!) at full price isn't very high, because the HTC Evo View 4G is hitting the bargain bin yet again.
This time it's over at 1saleaday.com, where you can get an Evo View 4G for $234.98 (after shipping), that's a full $4.97 less than it was 3 days ago (which sold out in minutes), and $165 less than Sprint's theoretical $400 off-contract price. Read More

Amazon's recent update to its Kindle for Android app brings an important change by allowing native support for reading PDF documents.
Unfortunately, PDF support, as it currently stands, is fairly barebones. Aside from being able to view PDF documents, zoom, and turn pages, the app does not have any other features. Indeed, unlike ordinary ebooks, the PDF portion of the app does not support bookmarks, highlights or the ability to make notes. Read More
