- Nokia has now officially revealed the Android 11 update timeline, and it appears to be identical to the previous leak. The Nokia 8.3, 2.2, 5.3, and 8.1 will be first in line for the upgrade, and the rest of the company's supported lineup will have to wait until 2021.
HMD Global's Nokia phones come with some of the cleanest Android builds around, but that still doesn't make the company the fastest to update its devices. Despite a roadmap shared with users last year, some of the phones slated for Android 11 still haven't received new software versions. To better reflect when updates might actually be ready, Nokia has expanded its roadmap up to Q3 and added a couple of new devices onto its list.

The Nokia 3.2 was blessed with an Android 11 update in March, and earlier this month, the previous flagship 8.1 and the budget 2.3 could join the party. Now the Nokia 2.2 is also in for the Android 11 update, as reported by TechMesto. The new firmware is rolling out to 24 countries, predominantly in Europe and Asia, while people living in other areas will still have to wait a while.
Google's been working on a call recording feature for its Phone app for some time, and it looks like the wait is almost over. As previously anticipated, the feature has started rolling out in India, seemingly beginning with Nokia's Android One phones, according to an announcement from the company today.
If you're looking for a phone to tide you over this rough patch the world's going through right now and don't mind or wholly welcome a phone with a MediaTek processor, a removable battery, and Micro-USB, you can pick up a Nokia 2.2 right now from Amazon for just $100.The Nokia 2.2 might be stacked as a low-end phone with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage in the US., just two cameras on the device total, and a 720p LCD (decently-designed as it is), and it would've been a pretty questionable buy at $140, its original MSRP here.

Keeping up with that trend, the Finnish brand today released the newest Android flavor for one of its cheapest phones released in 2019—the Nokia 2.2.

- With Android 10 Go edition made official, Juho Sarvikas has clarified Nokia's plans for its Go devices. The newer 1 Plus will get it first in Q1 2020, while the older 2.1 and 1 will receive their updates in Q2 2020.
Quick to promise software upgrades when Android 10 was announced, HMD Global has since revised its update roadmap for its Nokia smartphones with more of them expected to make the jump than initially claimed last fall.
Last month, Nokia unveiled the 2.2, a strong contender in the budget smartphone market, thanks to its removable battery, 5.7" display, and Google Assistant button. Unfortunately, the device was only announced for the European and Indian markets, with no expected availability in North America. However, the brand just introduced the phone to the US, where it's selling for $139 starting today. The North American variant retains the same specs as the original version, including its quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, 5.7" 720p display, 3,000mAh removable battery, and 13MP camera. Nokia says the latter uses AI to improve low-light and HDR shots by snapping several pictures and merging them together. Also, although the device doesn't feature a fingerprint sensor, it's one of the rare smartphones in the budget category that has face unlock, thanks to the 5MP front sensor. As with all recent Nokia phones, the handset will ship with Android 9 Pie and receive OS updates for two years. The Nokia 2.2 can be ordered online starting today and will be available in select Best Buy stores beginning August 4. You'll also be able to purchase additional Xpress-on covers in Pink Sand, Ice Blue, and Forest Green colors to customize your device.Buy: Amazon, Best Buy
HMD Global is now on its third iteration of its 2-series line with the Android One-equipped Nokia 2.2. At a starting price of just €99, it's obviously not going to win any spec wars, but it looks to be a solid entry into the budget phone competition with features like a 5.7" display, a Google Assistant button, and a removable battery.
