The foldable Moto Razr is official, coming exclusively to Verizon on January 9th for $1,500

There are some grown adults who don't know the satisfaction of snapping a clamshell phone closed to hang up on someone. Well, those days are coming back with the new foldable Razr. Motorola has unveiled the device after months of leaks, most of which were right. The new Razr is a Verizon exclusive, and it'll cost you a whopping $1,500 when it launches in early 2020.

Super expensive folding phones distract from a simple truth: phones are boring now

Smartphones have become boring. And I don't mean that in some kind of ultra-enthusiast, super geeky, and technical way. I mean that, for most people, smartphones are not an interesting, let alone exciting, thing. Most people look at buying a new smartphone like buying a new pair of running shoes: you read some reviews on a few blogs, you browse Zappos, maybe you even go down to a local athletic store and try some on. In the end, you buy some shoes, you keep them for a couple years (or longer, I'm not judging!), and you replace them when they seem worn out.

Here are a ton of pictures of Moto's new foldable Razr hours before it's announced

Motorola is set to unveil the long-rumored foldable Razr phone later today, but the FCC beat Moto to the punch. Thanks to a bungled confidentiality request, the FCC has posted numerous images of the phone's exterior, along with some of the innards. The device looks very much like the leaks suggested.

Moto G8 phones leak with Snapdragon 665 and triple rear cameras (Update: More photos and video)

Despite our fascination with all things Google-made this week, other phones do continue to exist. The newest devices in Motorola's mid-range G series, expected to launch later this month, have cropped up in some new leaks, showing off a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor.

Get a Moto Z4 with free 360 camera mod for $400 ($100 off)

If you're still hanging on to your old wired headphones, this is an excellent opportunity to pick up one of the last phones that still support them. Though it's not the most popular phone of this generation (see our review), the Moto Z4 is still a very decent phone, especially at this reduced price of $400. And with an included 360° camera, this is not a bad deal at all. If that's still out of your budget, several of Motorola's mid-range phones have been discounted as well.

Motorola's foldable Razr looks clamshell as hell in leaks (Update: Even more images)

Motorola's new RAZR foldable phone is due to go public as a Verizon-exclusive (and you know how Verizon covets exclusives) device in two weeks, but there's been plenty of anticipation as well as a little monetary dread from anxious fans since this thing was quasi-announced to the media in February. We're just now getting our first substantial leak on how it will look — substantively, what size this clamshell will actually be — and how it will be branded.

New Moto360 coming in December for $350, but it won't be made by Motorola

Of all the things we expected to come out of Lenovo's Motorola this year — mediocre modular phones, a flank of mid-rangers, and a foldable to behold — we did not think a new Wear OS smartwatch would be one. That said, we do have a 3rd-gen Moto360 (no space, as styled) to wait for, but it doesn't look to have been manufactured by Motorola.

Motorola One Action is already $50 off ($300) at B&H Photo

The Motorola One Action is a pretty new device. In fact, it's so new, that it isn't even available in the United States yet. That hasn't stopped B&H Photo from taking $50 off the MSRP though, bringing the phone to just $299.99.

Moto G8 Plus and One Macro hands-on: Versatile cameras and long battery life

Lenovo-owned Motorola has just unveiled three new phones and expanded the availability of the Motorola One Macro it launched earlier this month. The Moto G8 Plus and Moto G8 Play are the first of a new generation of mid-range G series phones, while the E6 Play is another entry into the ultra-budget segment. The two Play models are only launching in select Latin American countries, to begin with, but I’ve been able to spend some time with the other two phones.
