Motorola's reputation for software updates isn't exactly sterling, with most of its devices only receiving two software updates over the course of their lifespan. Last December, Motorola announced 21 of its phones would be receiving updates to Android 11, though in the three months since, we've only heard about a single update starting to arrive. You now can mark two more devices off that list, as Android 11 updates start heading out for both the Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power.

Although Motorola has been slow to roll out Android 10 to most of its devices globally, the company is at least keeping developers happy with steady kernel source releases. Over the past few weeks, Motorola has released updated source code packages for most of its phones, accelerating the creation of custom ROMs and recovery partitions.

There are a lot of fun 3D objects like skeletons, cars, planets, and animals you can view in Google Search, which might be perfect to pass the time while you and your kids are stuck at home. The underlying technology enabling this is called Google Play Services for AR, formerly known as ARCore. It's an engine that powers most games and applications on Android that use augmented reality effects. However, since the framework has to be tuned for each device, Google has to periodically update Play Services to support new phones and tablets. Since the last time we covered the library, 42 more devices have been added to the roster.

Motorola's product strategy for the past few years has been to release a phone at every price point imaginable. The Moto G8 was announced last month, while the G Power and G Stylus just went up for pre-order, and now another G8 model is here: the Power Lite.

Motorola's newest batch of Moto G phones have yet to hit the market, but at least we do know exactly what the Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power have in store for us when they finally go on sale. One of the newest unknowns to apparently leak, however, is a little something called the Moto G8 Power Lite. And, besides a few pictures, we don't know much about it.

We've been following the upcoming lineup of Motorola phones for the last couple of months. Most of the specs and renders leaked pretty thoroughly just last week, revealing almost everything about the G8 and G8 Power, and giving at least a good glimpse of what to expect for the G Stylus. While the leaks have been pretty spot on, it never hurts to get a bit more, especially when it's straight from retailers — and thanks to Amazon, we now have more renders and details to peruse for the G8 Power.

Following the rumors of a Motorola-made, as-yet-unnamed stylus phone, new renders of the still-untitled device have now leaked, together with a glimpse at the physically similar Moto G8 and G8 Power. Detailed specs for the last two phones have also leaked, showing precisely what you'll get in Moto's upcoming mid-range lineup.
